Types
Anxiety
It is more frequent in adolescence and is usually due to intense, excessive and continuous worry.
Some symptoms are:
• Worry too much about things
• body tremors or tics
• Insomnia
• Concentration problems
Suicide
It is very rare, but thoughts about committing suicide are more frequent and require an immediate mental health evaluation
Symptoms:
• Not feeling the slightest appreciation for life
• Talk about preferring suicide
• Plan a suicide
• Isolate yourself from society
• Go from euphoria to malaise in hours or days
• feel trapped
Depression
Depression is common in adolescents and is characterized by feelings of sadness and discouragement.
The most common symptoms are:
• Pathological sadness
• Loss of interest
• Decreased vitality
• Exaggerated tiredness
Eating disorder
It is an altered behavior that ranges from eating without control to the lack of food intake. It is more common in girls and is life-threatening
Symptoms:
• eat alone or in secret
• Feeling distressed or guilty about your eating
• Intensive and excessive exercise
• Inflammation and chronic sore throat
• Severe dehydration from purging
