Structure adaptations.
Root hair cells.
1) Root hair cells are specialized to take up water by osmosis and mineral ions by active transport from the soil into the tips of the roots.
2) They have a large surface area de to the roots , meaning that more water can move in and out.
3) They contain large permanent vacuoles which speed up the movement of water from the soil to the cell.

1) Transpiration is the loss of water vapor from the leaves and stems of the plant. It occurs because of gas exchange as the stomata opens so that it can occur.
