What is morality?
Morality is based on the attitudes, values and beliefs that exist in a community. They lay down a standard of behaviour

Emile Durkheim due to the pluralistic nature of society it is very difficult to establish a 'moral consensus' i.e. opinion is very divided as to what is morally acceptable and what is not.

Morals often differ from society to society but there will usually be some core shared values held by the majority of people in a community.
Morals may also be personal or individual and there is often disagreement between people about many moral issues.
