Thrid Generation Sequencing: Direct sequencing and able to generate thousands to billions of nucleotide within days
Detection period

Third generation sequencing: Takes only few days depending on the fragment length, easier and less-time consuming

Importance
Sanger sequencing: For fragment analysis, NGS confirmation, microbial identification, STR analysis, etc.
Next generation sequencing: Important in genome sequencing includes pathogenic microbial genomes, transcriptome analysis, mutation detection, etc.
Third generation sequencing: They directly sequence a single DNA molecule which is less time consuming
