Mapsofworld
This organization is not just maps of the world but gives different activities for issues in countries.
One of the activities looks at the wars and revolutions in different countries and how it impacted them. Another looks at the issue of child marriages in countries.
National Geographic
I chose to follow this organization because they have a deep understand of the world and continue to do research.
The have different resources for different countries, topics, and issues for all around the world to discuss with students.
Globe Trottin' Kids
This user maybe for a younger audience instead of high school students, but it still has a lot of useful resources that can be used to teach about other countries.
A lot of the resources can be inspiring to be made into activities appropriate for high school students

This user has resources dealing with different countries and different events in history that students will learn about in world area studies.
It talks about the culture of each country in Europe and the history behind each country. Students will get an understanding of how that country became what it is today.
History Gal
This person has a multitude of resources to teach not only geography, but about the history of each country.
She has different sections that have a wide range of resources (lessons, activities, notes, etc.) that teachers can use to improve their lessons.
My favorite section that she has is "World History Emporium". In this section, I can find geography lessons and activities, along with world history countries.
Student Engagement
Cult of Pedagogy

There are different activities for all ages to keep students' attentions during the lesson and help them learn in a fun way.
There are multiple topics presented on their board that can help teachers. The one that stood out to me mostly was the topic of Social Justice and talking about it in the classroom.
Edutopia

One of the pins that I really like is "6 Opening and Closing Routines". The routines listed are a good way to see what your students got out of the lesson and to see how engaged they were.
It also gives different forms of assessments, to gather information on what the students learned and possible what areas/topics in the lesson might need more engagement.

They listed out resources/books students can read with the topic that they are learning about in class. This helps the students to make connection with what they are learning.

Kathleen Morris
I followed this person because on her board not only does it give good research tips, but it also gives other tips and insights to helping students become good writers.
One of the pins that she has that opened my eyes to help students research was "How to be Safe Online". Though this might not seem to relevant, it is important for students not to click on random links and site while trying to research online.
Writers Digest

One of the pins that they have that I think would be beneficial to use in my class is "How to Research Topics Like a Journalist". As I have students do research papers, I want them to have the mindset that they are a journalist trying to uncover the root of issues and possible solutions.
