brownian motion
Hot water has more energy than cold water. First seen by looking at pollen grains in water. The water particals were colliding with the pollen grains, causing them to move around jerkily.

Health and Digestion
Health 1
Health
It is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing, as well as the absence of disease.
-
-
Health 2
Healthy
Being healthy is being in a complete state of physical, mental and socially well.
Pulse rate
-
Recovery rate
-
The fitter the person the quicker the recovery time. This is because the heart works more efficiently and becomes larger.
-
-
The digestive system
-
Purpose
The purpose of the digestive system is to break down larger food molecules into small molecules in order to provide the body with energy.
-
Digestive enzymes are used to break down food in the gut into small molecules that can be absorbed through the gut wall

-
Microbes and Pathogens
-
What are they?
Microbes
Microbe is the name given to viruses and bacteria. Microorganisms are also known as 'Germs'. Harmful germs can make us unwell.

Acids and Alkalines
-
-
Neutralisation
-
This can take place inside the human body in the stomach where hydrochloric acid neutralises bacteria from food
-
pH scale
-
The pH scale is a scale from 1-14 that measures how acidic or alkaline a chemical or substance is. 7 is neutral, 1-6 is acidic and 8-14 is alkaline. Depending on what it is, it turns a different colour when universal indicator is added to it. If it's an acid it turns red-yellow, if it's alkaline it turns blue-purple and if it's neutral it turns green
You can make your own indicator by crushing red cabbage with a pestle and mortar and adding boiling water.
