Thing like coal and petrol are examples of things that can polute the enviroment and it's proven that exposed to high levels of air polution severe sickness like lung cancer heart dissese are things that can ocour. Using hydrogen to power things like cars it relases reaming air vapor into the atomosphere which not only dosen't polute the air but purifies it to make cleaner air.
Hydrogen is also made cleanly and is a great renwable energy it made throught a quite simple proccess involving water and electricity. H2O is made of 2 elements hydrogen and oxgen when you put electroliss throught the H2O it sepreates the oxgen and the hydrogen and stores them away and there you have hydrogen with no emmisions in the air. Just make sure you use clean electricty source it from windmills or solar energy.
Onother option that is being considered is nuclear energy i do not think that this is a sutiable or safe energy to use even though nowdays we have very advanced technology i still think the risk is to high. Hydrogen is not only clean but a safe energy to use as well for all our health benfits.Infact it is proven that while no fuel is 100% safe green hydrogen is proved one of the safest fuels in the world.
Blue Hydrogen is an example of a non renwable type of hydrogen it is made throught splitting natrul gas with SMR which stands for steam methane reforming which bassicly puts the gas in a high pressured room somwhere around 15 bars P.S.I and it splits the natrul gas into it's elements this realse steam and emmisions into the envirement.
POLITICAL
In a place like australia where we trade 32% of the world coal we are pretty comfortable in our posistion. Changing minds of buisnesmen and politicians may be hard where we have so much to lose if we change to other alternatives like hydrogen.
A postive this year is that many teal inpependents got voted in on some libreal seats also the greens also gained more seats in the house of repersentatives this means goverement focoues will have climate change high on the agenda this means they may be looking at new renawble energys this might mean green hydrogen might be one looked at.
getting other goverments onboard will be a key issue in the green hydrogen rollout. One country might start using it but we want it world wide. Diplomatic meet up's to convince other countries about using allternate energys like green hydrogen. The more countries doing it the cheaper the prices will be and the more common it will become.
Energy security is a key issue in the world at this point in time as russia have invaded ukraine sactions to stop importing and exporting with russia are happening all over the world as russia are one of the biggest coal exporters. In places like europe where they are on the brink of a energy criciss, it means countries are looking at alternate energys. This could mean renwable energys could become more of a option to places like europe.
ECOMONICAL
while other hydrogens like blue and grey cost about a 1 dollar per kg to make green hydrogen cost about 6-8 dollars for 1 kg much more expensive.So the question begs why would companys start making somthing much more expensive when they can make just as much money and spend much less money minning coal and other non renwables.
Hydrogen may not be popular now but as we move forward it may be a highly used energy so companys that take risks now may benfit latter on. Take Hyundi for example they have desgined the first hydrogen powered fuel cell car it may be slow to start but they may advantage in the future.
If people were willing to buy hydrogen products to start it would take a lot of cash out of there pocket. Becuase as you see above it is very expensive to make green hydrogen but as times go on it will hopefully decrease in price and we see more use of it. For example the Hyundi Nexo is currently $100,000 dollars a lot of money but that price could go down when the price of making green hydrogen goes down.
The first hydrogen station in Australia is located in canberra Fyshwick just outside of the fyshwick fresh food markets it's owned by Actew-AGL it dosen't get much use due to fact that there is only one Hydrogen fuel cell car in the world which is the Hyundi Nexo.
PERSONAL
I think Hydrogen is a great option and way forward for the future. Climate change is a very real thing and i belive hydrogen should be our energy of the future it is clean and also helps clean the enviroment in my opion is the right energy to help us achive net 0 by 2050. it is a resource that could last a long time as well i mean look how much water the world has. You need to be carefull when making hydrogen thought as there are many types blue brown yellow even pink those types are not renewable and are'nt great for the enviroment .
I also think countries that take advantage of it will have great ecinomical benfits it may start of slow but as countries look to the future trades may increase and they might benfit ecinomically. I think some countries need to get outside there comfort zone and it dosent just have to be countries but buisnnes and companies as well.
There are many diffrent types of renwable energys it is not just Green hydrogen there is biomass energy witch is the energy from living organism mainly plants.There is solar energy which is the energy from the sun. Geothermall energy which get it's energy from inside the earth and wind energy that genrates the wind into power. These are all great energys but i belive hydrogen is the best becuase it's the safest and the most abundant source in the universe.
I think the war in ukraine in some way is actually helping the conversion to renwable energys like green hydrogen. Because of the saction that we are putting on russia i think it's the perfect opurtunity to start thinking about using other energys that are clean for the enviroment while all imports and exports with russia have frozen
CULTRAL
If they did agree they then they would have to relocate the whole town or village this could have negative and postive impacts it could lead to more jobs and more money for the people but sad to leave there old homes behind. It would be a long proccess to do all this but worth it in my opion.
Places that green hydrogen can be made and resourced are made in places like south america, africa these places have things in common that all have cutrall cummunities in some areas.In order to make the hydrogen, big sites would have to be placed up and could affect the communities that is if they even agree to let them use their land to source the hydrogen. So cutrall cummunities could have big descions and roles to play in order for green hydrogen to be made.
