structure of earth
The core is the deepest part on/in planet earth and is about 5,200 deggrees cellcius.
The mantle is the bit between the core and crustand is about 3,700 Degrees celcius.
The crust is the furthest out of earth, it is what we live on it is made up of jigsaw like pieces that move and shift.
plate tectonics
Constructive plate boundary is 2 plates move apart and magma rises up to fill the gap therefore creating extra land and causing volcanoes to erupt.
-
Destructive plate boundaryis when a oceanic plate slides under a continental. This causes earthquakes and volcano eruptions.
Tsunami
Effect
-
-
lots needing emergency aid, eg food and water.
Threat of disease from mixing of fresh water, sewage and salt water.
-
-
the cause is an earthquake happening under the the sea so the energy gets released and creates a wave unveiwable until the sand banks.
Earthquakes
-
Responces
Emergency rescue teams could come from a number of countries, eg Iceland.
temporary field hospitals could be set up by organisations like the International Committee of the Red Cross.
GIS could be used to provide satellite images and maps of the area, to assist aid organisations.

Causes
An earthquake is a sudden shockwave caused by rocks being under stress from the movements of plates at plate boundaries. Eventually the stress in the rock builds up enough to deform and reach breaking point. At that point, the stored up energy is released in the form of shockwaves.
Volcano
-
-
The reason eruptions happen is because 2 plates are doing something whitch causes the magma to rise up and come out the mout of the volcano.
