Exploring Podcasting in English as a Foreign Language Learners’

1. Introduction
PODS gives language teachers a useful tool for teaching students new material. The purpose of this project was to integrate podcasting into an EFL writing course. Podcasts could be a rich source of audio and video content for language learners wishing to advance their communication abilities.
1.1Statement of the Problem
Students in the EFL preparation year may find it challenging to follow lectures and other classroom instructions. Podcasting is gradually becoming a well-liked instructional tool.
1.2 Research Questions
The effectiveness of podcast writing training in enhancing English language learners' writing abilities has been investigated. It found no difference in writing proficiency at the 0.05 level between students who received traditional writing instruction and those who only listened to a podcast for learning how to write.

3.Methodology
3.1 Participants
The majority of the participants had spent roughly six years studying English as a foreign language in Saudi schools before coming to the country.
3.2 Materials
Grammar Girl's short and dirty recommendations for better writing was the primary podcast chosen for this study. The second podcast was chosen with the goal of improving vocabulary and English language expressions in learners.
3.3 Instrument

To evaluate students' attitudes on podcasting and its potential as a teaching tool, researchers employed a survey questionnaire they themselves had created

An experimental pre-test and post-test design was used in the current study's quantitative methodology. Participants learned how to download, play, and access podcasts on their mobile devices.
4.Results and Discussion

The experimental group outscored the control group in writing on the post-test, according to the results. At the p.05 level, a statistically significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores was discovered.
4.2. Discussion
The frequency of spelling, punctuation and capitalization problems in a group of English language learners listening to podcasting has been reduced by listening to audio lectures. .
5.Conclusion
Pundits can prolong their lectures beyond what is allowed in the classroom, and students can listen to the audio content at any time. It is advised that EFL teachers use podcasting lectures into their EFL writing instruction. More research is needed to determine how podcasts affect language learning at different levels, such as secondary school students.
