Asking short questions using "was, were, did and wh- questions.
Giving short answers using "yes or no".
The short answer to these questions is that the verb that follows "did" should be used in its base form.

“was" is used for singular objects and “were” is used for plural objects. So, you will use “was” with I, he, she and it while you will use “were” with you, we and they.

Did is the past tense, so it refers to what the person did in past.

Questions introduced by a wh-word, that requires information in answer, rather than yes or no.
