USES AND CLASSIFICATION OF ROBOTS
Zoomorphic
These robots have a locomotive system imitating that of animals
Altough their mobility is very inefficient, they are perfectly adaptable to uneven terrain
Defence, security and surveilance robotics
There are robots that detect and desactivate explosives, tracker robots abd surveilance robots, among others.
Polyarticulated
Rhese are sedentary robots that have several joints with a limited number of degrees of freedom. The robotic arm is one of the best known of these. It is mainly used in industry for heavy and repetitive tasks
Land, sea and air robotics
This robots currently being developed in this field include autonomous vehicles, unmanned submarines and drones
Mobile
These robots move on wheels, tracks or chains, depending on what they are used for (explotation, transportation of persons or goods, etc.) and can travel trough the air, on land or by sea.
Medical robotics
Used in surgery, for the treatment of diseases and injueries, in prosthetics, etc.
Nanorobots can be very important in this field
Service robotics
This includes domestic robots (such as vacums and other cleaning devices)
Industrial robotics
Industry uses robots for different types of tasks
Android
These robots try to copy the appearance abd movements of humans. They are designed for social uses to provide personal assistance
Micro-Bit
We use makecode to programme something in a micro-bit controller
AUTOMATED MECHANISMS AND ROBOTS
An automated mechanism is a device or machine that performs a specific task and whose operation cannot be changed
An example is when we press the button of a cistern
A robot is a programmable automated machine that captures information about its surroundings, processes this information and acts on it
HOW DO ROBOTS WORK?
Sensors Percjieve
Controller Processes
Actuators Act
