SENSORS: are elements responsible for perceiving the signlas from the environment. They detect physical or chemical variables.

TEMPERATURE SENSOR: the resistance value of this resistor changes according to its temperature
PIR OR MOTION SENSOR: senses presence by detecting the difference between the heat emitted by the human body and the heat in the space around them
LIGHT SENSOR: is a resistance that varies based on the amount of light that it receives
Contact sensors: when the lever is actuated, the switch changes the position of the contact from NC to NO
