Milton Wright gave his sons, Wilbur, 11, and Orville, 7, a toy helicopter in 1878. On 17th December, one of the brothers took a plane. Orville piloted the plane and it rose into the air, stayed for 12 seconds and flew 36.5 metres. The Age of Flight began, this day named thus because Wilbur piloted the plane for 59 secons, in distance of 60 metres.
