Kush and Egypt
- Kush grew wealthy from trade, its army grew stronger
- Egypts ruler feared that the Kushites would get more powerful and and attack
- Their relationship wasn't always peaceful
- The kushites sent materials such as gold, copper, stone, ebony a type of dark heavy wood, and ivory
- to prevent the attack the pharaoh Thutmose sent an army to take control of Kush aroung 1500 BC
- Kush became a supplier of slaves and raw materials for Egypt
- the pharaohs army conquered all of Nubia north of the 5th cataract. due to this Kush became a part of Egypt
- Sometimes they lived in peace with each other and helped each other prosper
- after this the pharaoh destroyed Kerma, the Kushite capital
- Kush and Egypt were neighbors
- Kush remained an Egyptian territory for about 450 years
- In the mid 1000s BC the new kingdom in Egypt was ending and the power of Egypts pharaohs declined so the Kushite leaders regained control
