Kush and Egypt :crown:
War
As Kush grew wealthy from trade, it's army grew and Egyptian rulers grew worried that Kush would eventually attack.
To prevent such an attack, the pharaoh Thutmose 1 sent an army to take control of Kush around 500 B.C.E.
Egypt armies took control of Nubia north of the fifth cataract. After that victory, Thutmose 1 destroyed Karma, the capital of Kush. Later, rulers like Ramses the great built huge temples in what had been Kushite territory.
Kush remained in Egyptian territory for 450 years. During that time Egypt influence grew tremendously
Many Egyptians settled in Kush, causing the language of the region to shift to Egyptian. Many Kushites used Egyptian names and clothing. They also adopted Egyptian religious practices.
