ITALY (GEOGRAPHY)
MOUNTAINS: Italy has two main mountain ranges: ALPS, in the north and APENNINES, in the centre.
LOCATION: Italy is a country in southern Europe. It is a boot-shaped peninsula on the Mediterranean Sea. It borders with France, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. Italy has two major islands: SICILY and SARDINIA.
RIVERS: Italy's main rivers are the River PO, the River TIBER and the River ARNO. The River Po flows through Turin. The River Arno flows through Florence and the River Tiber flows through Rome, the capital of Italy.
CLIMATE: The climate is varied. Summers are hot and dry while winters are usually cold in the north and mild in the south.
POPULATION: Italy is divided into 20 regions, with a population of about 60 millions
FLAG: The Italian flag has three colours: green, white and red.
CAPITAL CITY: Italy's capital city is Rome. Rome is famous for its history and art all over the world and it's rich in ancient monuments like the Coliseum.
