Trees & Branches, if someone is away for a week, wait with this step,…

- - - - Uses the ‘planting a tree’ or ‘growing a branch’ process for initiating trees / branches
      - Ensures information flow between the Tree and the Coop and the Branch and Tree
      - Designs the Tree or Branch, making a conscious choice about which resources to engage to make it the best version of itself
      - Uses the advice process to get input and feedback where others have expertise or are impacted
      - Track who is involved, who doesn't want to be involved any more, and who may want to be involved who isn't
      - Tracks possibilities for learning for team members and communicates them
      - Balances harvesting group wisdom and tending to capacity
      - Considers other Trees and Branches when thinking about what resources to engage
      - Correlates resources used with the strategic priority level of the Branch / Tree
      - Tracks NCEs and assumptions of the tree / branch
- - - - 2) Write a short proposal which defines a broad scope of the tree/branch and sets out its purpose. Consider the considerations

        3) Use an advice process to gather input from everyone, and optionally some people outside of Navigate as well
        
        4) Identify who would like to be involved in the project by asking everyone
        
        5) Have a conversation with those who want to be involved, covering:
        
        Which resources are needed and whether they are available
        
        The capacity estimate
        
        The Accountabilities of Holders #
        
        Any concerns raised in the advice process and proposals for addressing them
        
        Who will hold the tree/branch, who will give input, and at which points others may be consulted
        
        Create a project budget (time / money)
        
        7) Communicate the results of this conversation and the budget to everyone and check for strong concerns. If there are strong concerns, work to integrate them. If there are none, the suggested tree holder(s) slip into their role(s)
