DIMENSIONS
-
-
Chain - only used if the function of the object wouldn't be affected by the accumulation of the tolerances
-
-
On multiple features - for dimension multiple same dimensions, use N x dimensions
For radius - uses "R", shows radius dimensions with the center of the radius located on the drawing, shows how to dimension radii which do not need their centers located.
For circle, arc, hole - Circle is dimensioned by its diameter. - Arc is dimensioned by its radius. - Holes are located by their centerlines.
-
DIMENSION IN DRAWING
-
-
Extension line offset - A gap between the object surface and the extension line, so it is not confused with the visible line of the model
-
Tolerance - plus-minus, how much the dimension is allowed to deviate
Rules of dimensioning dimensions, and drawings must be neat - Dimensions should not be duplicated. - Avoid dimensioning to hidden lines and features. -Dimension lines, extension lines and object outlines should not cross or overlap
TOLERANCE
Tolerances are included with dimensions in engineering drawings to take into account these manufacturing limitations.
Types of tolerances
Bilateral Tolerance: allowed to vary in two directions from the specified dimension. Both directions need not vary by the same amount.

ASSEMBLIES
multiple parts are brought together to define a larger, more complex product representation
Constructing an assembly normally begins with bringing in a base component, selected because of its central role.
JOINTS
-
REVOLUTE JOINT - Has a single rotational degree of freedom, much like a hinge.
