Radioactivity
Atomic model.
An atom is made from a nucleus which contains positive protons and neutrons which are neutral. Around them , there is a electrons which orbit in shells.
-
Neutrons have no charge , protons have +1 charge and an electron has a -1 charge.

Ionizing radiation
Radiation is a random process. In Ionizing radiation, either alpha , beta or gamma are given off.
Breakdown.
Alpha decay.
In alpha radiation , 2 neutrons and 2 protons are emitted. As a result , the mass number decreases by 4 whilst the atomic number decreases by 2.

Answers
Alpha particles have a higher mass compared to batá particles. This means that they are more ionizing. Energy lost from ionization means that the particles can not pernitrate as far and so they are more likely collide with atoms due to their size,
-
History
Thompsons plum pudding model said that an atom was positive with bits of electrons inside, This was proven to be wrong as the atom would collapse within itself.
Rutherford fired alpha particles at the gold foil. He later found out that the majority of an atom was infect empty. However , some did reflect and told him that they had hit something positive which was later deduced to be the nucleus. Some of the particles were deflected which told him the nucleus was very small.

Energy
Conduction , convection and radiation
Conduction.
-
Insulators are materials that do not allow for the transferee of energy,
-
Convection
A radiator is a good example. At the bottom , the liquid / gas is heated. As a result , the partials contain kinetic energy and the liquids / gases is spun and occupies more space. Because they occupy more space , they become more dense and rise and then they fall again.

Electrical Energy
Electrical energy is made when water is heated to make steam. The steam then turns a turbine and when the turbine moves , it causes the generator to transferee the energy into electricity.
Waves
Types
Longitudinal waves are caused by vibrations that occur parallels to the direction that the wave is traveling in.
-
Transverse waves are vibrations that occur perpendicular to the direction of which the wave is traveling in.
Water waves , light waves are any waves on the EM
