Automated mechanism and robots
An automated mechanism is a device or machine that performs a specific task and whose operation cannot be changed.
A robot is a programmable automated machine that captures information about its surroindings, processes this information and acts on it.
How
robots perceive
Sensors are the elements responsible for perceiving the signals from the enviroment. This devices detect physical or chemical variables and transform them into electrical variables.
Temperature sensor
Ultrasonic distance sensor
Light sensor
Infrared sensor
Contact sensor
PIR or motion sensor
robots act
Actuators are elements that execute orders that they recieve from the controller. These devices convert electrical energy to another type of energy (mechanical, light, sound, etc.) to operate motors, switch on lights, emit sounds, etc.
Servomotor
LED
Direct current motor.

do robots work?
First of all we have to know that a robot has three parts
Controller
Sensors
Actuator
robots control
The controller (or controller board) processes signals from the sensors and calculates the orders that it must give to the different parts of the robot (actuators).
