Dissolution of the monistaries

was the main man when it can to the dissolution of the monistaries

The Dissolution had happoned in two stages

In 1543 Henry VIII of England declared war on France and seized Boulogne.

This victory was only short lived as the English crown could not afford to keep Boulogne in there posseson and would later give the town back to France under Edward VI

The first stage was before 1529 and was done under Wolsey. However these had only need smaller monisteries that were not doing too wel. around 200 were sut down.

However it was after 1529 under Cromwell, was when the larger monistarys began to go.

there were too factions towards the end of Henry the VIII life

Conservatives-Catholics who did not like the refroms and wanted to at the very least mitigate them.

Refromists-Those who wanted to tern England fully protistant.

Henry laid down in his will that a council should be put in place when his Son Edward was to become king.

This council would be made up of both the Conservative faction and the refromists.

The causes of this downfull mostly point to court factionalsim. The same cause that had brought down both Wolsey and Anne Bolyne in the years before.

There were protests against the dissolution of the monistaries by many monks. However many of them were exicuted.

At one point it was larger then the kings forces at 40,000 rebles.

He had made many enermies mostly from the conseratives who disliked his role on the refermation the dissolution of the monistaries.

Also alot on nobility did not like him for his background as a son of a blacksmith much the same way the nobility did not like wolsey for his background as a son of an Essex bucher.

It ended with the opprising being deffeted with pomises of theking disscusing there issues if the uprissing began. Many of the nobles who had lead it being hung and killed, 200 hundred rebles were exicuted with the leader Robert Aske who was hung in chains
