Employers
Smart employers would provide free personal training, education programs and generous salaries to provide the best possible work environments for their employees.
Employers are obliged to provide safe working conditions for employees.
Employers should view employee satisfaction as crucial to the success of a company.
Employers have workplace health and safety responsibilities.
if any employee suffers from an injury it is the employers job to provide suitable alternative work.
All Australian employers must abide by the ten national employment standards (NES).
Government
Have the duty to make laws and regulations regarding the health and safety of employees in a workplace and guaratee the producticvity of the Austrlian economy.
Responsible for creating and implementing policies to ensure that the Australian workplace is heading in the right direction and using methods such as funding training, education programs and programs targeting migrants.
Involved in negotiating workplace agreements by documenting the terms and conditions of employment between and employee (or group of employees) and their employer.
Has the role of working with employees and trade unions to develop fair and equitable agreements.
Stimulates growth (high growth = low employment; low growth = high employment) to help keep people employed and earning incomes and that business that employ are operating and making profits.
Government organisations hold employers to their workplace health and safety responsibilities through spot checks on employers and imposing fines if any breaches are found.
Employees
A person who works for another person or entity in return for financial compensation.
Work may vary depending on the nature of the work completed, level of responsibility, and the time spent completing work.
Casual work does not come with the same benefits and rights a as a full
Full time work is when u work full time a minimum of 38 hours a week and you get benefits of sick leave, annual leave, long service leave etc.
Casual employments are usually defined as temporary or ad hoc workers and they do not receive the benefits that full time employees do.
A part time job has the same benefits as full time work but on reduced hours.
Trade Unions
Organisations of workers who actively seek better pay, safer working conditions and increased job security.
It is not compulsory for workers in a particular industry to join a union but is highly encouraged by union members,
A union with more members can place more pressure on governemnts and employers than in a smaller union.
The pressure that unions place on governments and employers usually takes place as indiustrial action which includes strikes and work bans.
