3303
Late 3302 to Early 3303 - Azimuth Biochemical conducts secret research that aims to achieve the first human-piloted Thargoid ship at Oaken Point in HIP 26176. Working with what is presumed to be a Thargoid Scout ship, many attempts were made to interface "volunteers", delivered to the facility in escape pods, with the vessel. After many attempts, the only test subject to achieve a connection and survive is Subject D-2, she found the connection "emotionally difficult to process". As they begin testing the V series of subjects, the Thargoid vessel no longer responds, and the project leaders order a replacement to be found. Black Flight operatives are tasked to search for one. Subject D-2 escapes the facility.
Jan 5 - CMDR DP Sayre reports the first known encounter with an alien ship. The ship interdicted him from hyperspace before scanning him and then departing to an untraceable destination. The alien ship is later confirmed to be a Thargoid vessel, officially classified as a Thargoid Interceptor
April 11 - Reports of unknown ships attacking Federation convoys. When dropping into the signal, CMDRs ships would be disabled and an unknown ship was seen jumping away from the destroyed convoy
Azimuth Biochemical at Fort Asch in HIP 22460, attempt to capture a new Thargoid vessel. They study the two Thargoid ground sites in the system in the hope of attracting a ship. Investigations revealed that Dr Edmund Pearce had assisted Subject D-2's escape from Oaken Point. He confessed and was imprisoned pending interrogation and execution. Finally there was an encounter with a Thargoid ship, but not the type they were expecting, as the vessel was not hostile. Later, a Black Flight squadron encountered 3 Thargoid ships and were destroyed in less than 2 minutes. The Witch orders the base shut down and the system evacuated.
Jun 2 - CMDR Mobiusetti witnesses the first known interaction between an unknown ship and a Barnacle in Pleiades Sector OI-T C3-7 A6, confirming the two were linked
Jun 13 - Wreckage of a Federal fleet found in HIP 17044 with a transmitter that contained a recorded message. "UNKNOWN VESSELS DETECTED. SERVER PURGE FAILED. SHIP ASSETS LIQUIDATED. PAYLOAD DESTROYED. SHIP STATUS LOST." Shortly after a galaxy wide broadcast confirmed the return of the Thargoids.
Jun 19 - Super power leaders respond to the news of the encounter. Federation President Zachary Hudson confirmed that the Federal millitary had been expanding recently in preparation for this possibility. Emperor Arissa Lavigny-Duval urged calm and reminded the public that humanity had overcome seemingly insurmountable odds in the past. Prime Minister Edmund Mahon called for caution, arguing it had not yet been proven the destroyed Federal ships were the victims of Thargoid attack, and much could be learned from an advance race such as the Thargoids
CMDRs find an unknown signal at a listening post in Maia, leading to heavily guarded relay posts. The final post contained an encrypted location for "The Nest". Traced to HIP 19026 B1C - CMDR Lightningwing discovers the first known Thargoid surface site, most of which contain functioning Thargoid technology
Aug 4 - Aegis founded jointly by scientists of the Federation, Empire and Alliance, to pool expertise and gather further intelligence on the Thargoids. Announcement made by Professor Alba Tesreau. Aegis establishes a research post at Donar's Oak in Delphi
Sep 14 - Aegis contracted pilots begin testing experimental missiles against the new Thargoid vessels. This is later viewed by some commentators as provocative against a ship that did not act aggressively towards them.
Sep 15 - Chief of Federal Security, Admiral Aden Tanner announced another Thargoid attack in Delphi, resulting in the destruction of multiple Federal ships including a Farragut battle cruiser. Admiral Tanner confirmed the Thargoids were now considered enemies of the Federation. President Hudson gave Admiral Tanner full authority to deal with the Thargoid threat
Sep 21 - Superpowers widen Aegis remit to focus on research and defence, dramatically increasing its budget. Alba Tesreau announces recruiting Profesor Palin and Liz Ryder to develop new technologies
Sep 26 - Independent pilots report being attacked by Thargoid Interceptors. At least one of these occurred at a site with wreckage of an Imperial convoy

Feb 15 -Two new systems attacked, marking the Thargoids arrival in the fringes of the core systems. Federation launches the Bulwark Project, an initiative to develop autonomous millitary hardware to combat the Thargoids. Criticized by Imperials as a circumvention of long-standing conventions against developing AI. The campaign was successful, Shadow-President Felicia Winters noted that the remit of the project was to determine feasibility only.

Mar 22 - Aegis publishes a report containing significant insights into the Thargoids gained with the help of Ram Tah's Guardian research. These indicated the the Thargoid/Guardian war started because of the latters perceived encroachment on territory that the Thargoids had "seeded" millennia before. Despite attempts to communicate, the Thargoids survival instincts were so strong they refused to tolerate any potential threat and continued hostilities until the Guardians expelled them using automated war machines

Jun 21 - Eagle Eye did not intercept any new signals and gave the message "no new signal detected, thargoid activity unknown initiate protocol xeno 55". Aegis declares that the Thargoids are retreating from the core systems. Admiral Tanner noted that while incursions had been reversed in many regions, the Thargoids remained entrenched in the Pleiades Nebula
Jun 28 - Aegis reports Eagle Eye detected a massive surge in Thargoid transmissions. Admiral Tanner issued a call for aid for Garay Terminal in Deciat, identified as the Thargoids main target. A number of attacked megaships had already been found in the system
Jun 28 - Class 3 Guardian Plasma Charger, Class 3 Guardian Shard Cannon, Guardian FSD Booster, Guardian HRP, Guardian MRP and Guardian SRP made available
Jun 28 to 29 - Independent pilots patrolling the Pleiades discovered listening posts monitoring planetside locations. Each site was found to be a surface settlement or crashed ship that had been attacked by Thargoids. Some settlements managed to evacuate, others were not so lucky. A number of logs noted abrupt temperature decreases coinciding with the attacks.

Aug 28 - Class 1 versions of all Guardian weapons made available, along with the XG7 Trident, XG8 Javelin and XG9 Lance hybrid fighters
Aug 28 - A new Thargoid Interceptor type, the Hydra begins appearing in the Pleiades region. It's emergence coincided the sudden and unexplained disappearance of all Thargoid Scouts from the core systems and Pleiades Nebula. In response to this development, the Pilots Federation sealed off the Cone Sector FN-J B9-0 system, believed to contain high concentrations of Hydra interceptors. Despite this, The Gnosis, flagship of the Canonn Research Group confirmed it would still attempt to jump to the locked system on Sep 6th
Aug 30 - Two more attacked sites found, two "Void Temples" belonging to the Far-God Cult.
Sep 6 - The Gnosis attempts its jump into the Cone Sector, but is intercepted by a Thargoid attack, causing severe damage to its systems. Independent CMDRs on board fought the Thargoids away, including Scouts and the new Hydra interceptors. Thargoid attacks on the vessel ceased and they retreated from the system on Sep 13. The Gnosis was able to complete repairs and departed on Sep 27
3305
As the conflict entered 3305, Thargoid attacks began overwhelming Human defences. More stations were attacked in the first quarter, than in the whole of 3304, with volunteers struggling to provide aid. Aegis enters into a partnership with Ram Tah to manufacture Guardian related technology
Apr 18 - Admiral Aden Tanner gave a statement: "What's surprising is that the Thargoids aren't targeting our most important social or military centres, such as the superpowers' home systems. There's no doubt that they're trying to weaken us, but evidently they're guided by different principles than those that typically govern human martial strategy. What we can say is this: with capital ships of limited use against Thargoid craft, independent combat pilots remain our best defence against the Thargoids." Aegis announces it has entered a partnership with Ram Tah to boost the production of Guardian based modules.
Jul 4 - Reports emerge that harvests of Meta Alloys were in steep decline and many known Barnacle sites were exhausted. Alba Tesreau announced an initiative to locate alternative supplies by collecting and analysing exploration data at the Oracle in Delphi
Jul 11 - Alba Tesreau reveals that the survey had located new sites in the Witch Head Nebula. The Alliance, Federation and Empire launch concurrent resource-gathering campaigns to build new infrastructure in the region. Aegis reported that the Thargoids had, in a matter of hours, completely withdrawn from the core systems and the Pleiades Nebula, with the exception of the Maia and Merope systems
Jul 18 - The Thargoids returned to the Pleiades Nebula in large numbers, attacking 3 stations without being detected by Eagle Eye. They were also massing in Maia for an attack on Professor Palin's research base. Palin and his staff evacuated on the Carson's Spring megaship before the surface port came under fire, but the vessel was attacked and disabled before it could leave Maia. Independent pilots successfully defended the megaship and it was able to resume its journey to the Arque system on Jul 22. Professor Palin began rebuilding his operation at Abel Laboratory on Arque 4E and resumed services on Jul 30
Jul 25 - Ocellus starports arrive in 6 systems in the Witch Head Nebula, slated for colonisation as part of The Enclave Initiative. These were immediately attacked by Thargoid forces, defending their territory. Professor Tesreau called on independent pilots to help defend the stations lest they be forced to retreat and lose access to the new Meta-Alloy sources in the region
Jul 27 - All six systems were declared clear of Thargoid incursions. Admiral Tanner confirmed victory on Jul 31. Professor Tesreau added that the Federation, Empire and Alliance had declared the Witch Head an Enclave of humanity that they would share equally. Starport repairs began in earnest so Meta-Alloy harvesting could begin
Aug 6 - The Witch Head Enclave attracts thousands of migrants looking for a fresh start. The second colonisation wave arrived on Aug 8, resulting in the completion of 7 planetary ports. The expansion concluded on Sep 5 after 6 waves of construction, bringing the total to 16 inhabited systems with 23 ports
The Thargoid attacks on the Witch Head Enclave marked a significant de-escalation in the conflict. Following that wave, the Thargoids abruptly ceased incursion activity, and Eagle Eye detected only nominal signals for multiple cycles. Although Thargoid vessels continued to appear in the Pleiades Nebula, hyperdicting passing ships, it seems as if the Thargoids had reached exhaustion, or were reconsidering their strategy
Aug 25 - A fifth Thargoid Interceptor variant was spotted at the abandoned Palin Research Centre in Maia. Designated the Orthrus, it resembled a Cyclops with new yellow markings, cockpit reinforcement, and protrusions of unknown significance. The Orthrus did not engage in combat and fled to hyperspace immediately. Sightings ceased the following week
3306
Jan 9 - After 22 weeks without any Thargoid incursions, the number of stations still undergoing repairs had been reduced to 61, thanks to the tireless efforts of traders and the relief organisation Operation Ida
Jan 9 - 6 systems, 3 in the Pleiades Nebula and 3 in the Witch Head Nebula come under Thargoid incursion: Asterope, Atlas, Celaeno, Shenve, Onoros and Haki
Jan 13 - Alba Tesreau commented that the Thargoids were likely intent on reclaiming the Witch Head region for its plentiful Barnacle sites
Jan 30 - 4 more systems come under fierce incursion that take weeks to fully repel. Despite what many saw as a major new offensive by the Thargoids, the war entered another quiet period
Jul 23 - All stations damaged by Thargoid attack were now fully repaired
3253
Nov 10 - Faulcon DeLacy teams with Aegis to introduce the Taipan AX1 fighter equipped with AX Multicannons
42 n Persei
Berserker, Regenerator and Inciter variant Thargoid Scouts identified
Oct 11 - The Thargoids increase the scale of their attacks to 3 stations each week. This proved decisive enough to overwhelm humanities defences. Each week through to Dec 3304, one or two targeted station suffered severe damage. The stations were able to recover and begin repairs, but the human death toll multiplied rapidly compared to previous months
Dec 27 - Aegis debuts a new branch: Aegis Defence following the Thargoids most devastating attack yet. Five systems were hit by incursions: Behnken Gateway, Bethke Ring, Cavalieri, May Gateway, Mendez Terminal. With the Acropolis and Vanguard missing or withdrawn, Aegis deployed 5 new megaships to the affected systems
Oct 15 - Thargoid forces begin probing the Witch Head Nebula once again. Lembass, Haki, Wellington, Onoros and Shenve (all controlled by the Alliance). With neither Aegis nor the Alliance Defence Force in a position to respond, the Alliance Expeditionary Pact faction deployed the Golden Stag megaship to the region and called on independent pilots to aid in preventing a massive attack. The operation was a success, the bulk of the Thargoid assault force was destroyed and the remainder retreated
Oct 29 - The Adamastor, an abandoned megaship, arrives in the Chukchan system. The Alliance Salvage Guild determined the vessel had been travelling on autopilot at sublight speed since 3111, when it had departed Chukchan on an unknown assignment. Investigation linked the Adamastor to the defunct Azimuth Biochemicals
Geological Remote Survey Station 23B found on Musca Dark Region PJ-P B6-1 3 in the Coalsack Nebula.
Log analysis found that Azimuth had hired a science team led by Professor Penelope Carver, to survey the Coalsack Nebula in 3111. The team discovered Barnacles and a crashed Thargoid Interceptor, from which they retrieved an unidentified object. The Adamastor was sent to retrieve the team and take them to an undisclosed location in the direction of Barnards Loop, but the Thargoid artefact caused continuous malfunctions, and fighting broke out among the crew. Professor Carver abandoned the ship in a Sidewinder and crashed on HIP 69200 1B.
Adamastors sister ship, the Hesperus was later conducting research in the Barnards Loop area when it was attacked by Pharmasapien agents. A single ship, the Proteus, escaped and was later found in the Trapezium Sector.
It was surmised that the Coalsack Nebula had been seeded by the Thargoids and claimed as their territory. The Adamastor incident becomes the earliest verified encounter with the Thargoids, taking place 14 years before the start of the first Thargoid War.
The Alliance organises an expedition to the Coalsack Nebula to occupy it and exploit the Barnacles there. The Witch Head Nebula's sources of Meta-Alloys had begun to show signs of over-exploitation. The Alliance Assembly approves the plan on Nov 9
Nov 12 - Expedition begins with a public resource drive and a millitary campaign to reduce the Coalsack's Thargoid presence. The Alliance Expeditionary Pact intended to develop 4 systems. The new stations were opened on Nov 26. Dr Rodion Stathos, chief xenobiologist of Betancourt Base, issued a request for deliveries of Thargoid commodities, offering high prices for them

Nov 27 - Observers warn that the Federation and Empire stood on the brink of war, as a result of the actions of the Neo-Marlinist Liberation Army terrorist group, and a heated dispute over the fate of Marlinist refugees granted asylum in Federal space. Senator Denton Patreus orders the withdrawal of Imperial funding from Aegis as the Empire changed its focus from the seemingly subsiding Thargoid threat to countering the Federation and NMLA
Dec 3 - Dr Maximilian North of Sirius Atmospherics, a subsidiary of Sirius Corporation, announced the development of new terraforming procedures tailored to ammonia worlds. This would be a slow process, but now the only worlds the Thargoids held an interest in could one day be encroached on by humans
Dec 10 - The Federation withdraws its funding of Aegis. Commodore Morag Halloran of the Alliance Defence Force comments that the recently established Coalsack Nebula colonies were vulnerable to Thargoid attacks, as the ADFs response time will be slow due to the distance involved
Dec 31 - The Thargoids finally strike again, launching simultaneous incursions into 9 systems, 3 in the Coalsack Nebula and 6 in the Witch Head Nebula. The ADF was, as feared, too slow to prevent the incursions and local forces were overwhelmed. Admiral Aden Tanner warned that Aegis could not adequately respond due to recent resource and funding cutbacks, and called on independent pilots for assistance
3307
Jan 1 - Simguru Pranav Antal of Utopia proposed a Galactic Summit between the three superpowers to resolve their differences
Jan 8 - Professor Alba Tesreau urged the superpowers to attend the summit and recommit to supporting Aegis in light of the Thargoid resurgence, stating that coexistence would only be possible through greater understanding and rigorous research. Prime Minister Edmund Mahon, Princess Aisling Duval and Shadow-President Felicia Winters all signalled their support for the summit, and legislators were pressuring their leaders to attend. Sirius Corporation voiced its support for the summit, but then made its own play to host the summit in Sirius, which succeeded
During the second week of the summit, Prime Minister Mahon proposed the Sirius Treaty, an agreement between the superpowers to greatly expand the remit of Aegis and increase inter-power cooperation against the Thargoids.
Mar 9 - Following a broad agreement to increase funding for Aegis in exchange for a promise of new breakthroughs in anti-Thargoid technology, the Sirius Treaty had gained the support of Archon Delaine of the Kumo Crew pirates, the Marlinist Colonies, and several other independent groups, leaving the Federation and the Empire as the only major hold-outs
Mar 11 - The NMLA carries out its Nine Martyrs terrorist attack, bombing 9 starports across the core systems. The Galactic Summit concluded early as delegations returned home to deal with the attack and Mahons proposal was left unsigned
Apr 22 - Professor Alba Tesreau began a campaign to collect Guardian artifacts to research new anti-Thargoid defences. Aegis Research deployed a new megaship, Alexandria, in the Delphi system to host the initiative. The campaign met its goals by Apr 29. As the research entered its early stages, there were no signs of imminent breakthroughs
May 13 - Countless Thargoid ships swarm into 10 systems. Local starports were heavily damaged and Aegis mobilised its available defences and called for independent aid. Professor Tesreau surmised that the high concentration of Guardian artefacts delivered to Delphi may have triggered the Thargoids' deep aversion to Guardian technology. Two of the damaged starports, California Freeport and Fort Xeno, had recently been constructed by the efforts of the Kumo Crew, and Archon Delaine swore revenge. The attack on California Freeport marked the first time the Thargoids had attacked human colonies in the California Nebula
May 20 - Only 2 of the incursions had been defeated. The same day, the Alexandria embarked on a journey to Sol and jumped from Delphi to HIP 16538 where it planned to restock tritium. The Thargoids followed, trapping the Alexandria and endangering local citizens. Admiral Aden Tanner requested independent assistance to aid the megaship before its important cargo was lost.
May 24 - The Federal Navy barred the Alexandria from entering any Federal system over fears that it would bring Thargoid attack with it. Wishing to avoid jettisoning the cargo, it was decided the Alexandria would jump to a system with minimal population to offload the cargo
May 27 - HIP 16538 is cleared of Thargoid incursion
Jun 1 - The Alexandria's captain, Jacob Morales, announced plans to jump the megaship to HIP 30944 on Jun 3 to offload the Guardian cargo for distribution to multiple locations.
Jun 3 - The Alexandria departs as scheduled, but never arrives in the target system. Search teams found no trace of it in nearby systems. Admiral Tanner declares the megaship missing on Jun 4, with Captain Morales and 4,000 crew missing, presumed dead. Admiral Tanner theorised that the Alexandria had been hyperdicted by Thargoids. The loss of the cargo dealt a severe blow to Aegis Research
Jul 27 - Superpowers ordered the suspension of Aegis, and launched an investigation into the Alexandria's disappearance. The move came as public confidence in Aegis had been irreparably damaged after the Alexandria incident and the group's defeat by the mysterious Salvation, who some authorities suspected was the leader of an Aegis splinter group, in a campaign to secure access to a Thargoid-Guardian war battlefield in Trapesium Sector YU-X C1-2, the site of the Proteus. Many of Aegis' operations were shut down and several senior members including Alba Tesreau were forced to resign
Aug 31 - A data bank at the crash site of a Type-9 Heavy in Colonia, belonging to a CMDR Hyford becomes active. Information contained within pointed investigators to the HIP 26176 system, where Hyford was making deliveries to an un-named organisation. This results in the discovery of the Oaken Point research facility and leads investigators to Fort Asch and the Overlook megaship.
Sep 14 - Salvation announced that he was developing a new interstellar xeno-detection network that he claimed would surpass the capabilities of Eagle Eye, revealing preliminary findings that the Thargoids would attack the Cornsar system soon. This warning was dismissed by Carter Armstrong of Aegis, as well as the leader of Cornsar's ruling faction, Marshal Noah Sharrow, who declined to order an evacuation
Sep 16 - Salvation's prediction comes true as Thargoids attack Cornsar. Marshal Sharrow issued a call for aid. Aegis was unable to provide support due to its suspension. Salvation did not comment on the attack despite being vindicated.
Sep 17 - Salvation secretly contacted his supporters and asked them to go to the Heart Of Taurus megaship, owned by Taurus Mining Ventures, that carried shipments of advanced technical components disguised as Basic Medicines. Pilots were directed to deliver the shipments to the rescue vessels in Cornsar, where they would be assembled into a prototype anti-xeno superweapon.
Sep 20 - Salvation successfully activates the superweapon. All Thargoid ships suddenly withdraw from the system and numerous crashed Thargoid Interceptors were sighted on several local worlds. Salvation took credit for repelling the Thargoids on Sep 22. Salvation rewards supporting pilots with the Mbooni system permit and a modified Guardian Gauss Cannon with a burst-fire mode
Oct 28 - Thargoids invade the Pleiades Nebula and the Witch Head Nebula. Admiral Aden Tanner of Aegis expressed frustration that Aegis could not provide more assistance due to the investigation. Tanner voiced concerns that Salvation's anti-xeno superweapon was to blame for the invasion, asserting that is use in Cornsar had provoked the Thargoids and could escalate the war. Taurus Mining Ventures moved the megaship Bright Sentinel from Mbooni to Merope at Salvation's request to give pilots access to his modified weapons
Nov 5 - The Thargoid offensive moves into HR 1183. Admiral Tanner takes command of the Aegis Defence megaship Musashi and moved it to T Tauri to conduct a search of Taurus Mining Ventures headquarters, Hind Mine. Tanner claimed Salvation was using his superweapon to deliberately and recklessly provoke the Thargoids, and claimed sources that Hind Mine contained evidence of Salvation's misdeeds. Aegis leaders condemned Tanner for relocating the Musashi without authority and ordered him to depart T Tauri. Taurus Mining Ventures spokesperson Patience Middleton insisted the companies contracts with Salvation were legal and confidential
Nov 11 - Thargoid forces are defeated in Asterope, other affected systems remained under siege, and 5 new incursions were reported. Admiral Tanner acted on his own authority and launched an attack on the forces of Taurus Mining Ventures in T Tauri to gain access to Hind Mine and expose Salvation's secrets. Although Tanner was openly defying Aegis leadership, it was rumoured that many Aegis members quietly supported his actions, and shared the view that the investigation should end

Nov 18 - Admiral Tanner is defeated in T Tauri. Taurus Mining Ventures boarded and captured the Musashi and detained Admiral Tanner pending his transfer to Aegis internal security teams. Musashi's crew were permitted to leave the megaship unharmed. Thargoids attack 3 more systems, bringing the total number of active incursions to 16. Nov 29 - Federal Navy announced that Admiral Tanner would be court-martialled for his actions in T Tauri, and if found guilty, would be dishonorably discharged and imprisoned for life. Aegis members on the Musashi crew had been similarly repatriated to their home systems to face civil or millitary charges. Dr Paul Baumann said that the T Tauri incident would be factored into his investigation of Aegis potential misconduct. It was also observed that although there was no direct evidence to support Tanners claims, coordinated Thargoid strikes continued
Nov 30 - The Imperial Navy and the Alliance's Council Of Admirals began discussing the possibility of providing millitary support to Salvation. Federal Congress debated redirecting funds set aside for Aegis to Salvation to speed up development of his superweapon. Neither Aegis nor Salvation were providing support to independent pilots struggling to repel the Thargoids
Dec 9 - Salvation directs the megaships Bright Sentinel, Glorious Prospect and Musashi to jump to the Maia, Merope and Delphi systems to support the assembly and activation of 3 superweapons to repel Thargoids from those systems. Among those directing the initiatives were former members of the Federation, Empire and Alliance, such as Commodore Morag Halloran, who had resigned their commissions to assist Salvation. Former Aegis senior Alba Tesreau quietly contacted Aegis supporters and visitors to Meene, asking them to divert shipments of Salvation's Classified Experimental Equipment to Felice Dock for the engineer Ram Tah to analyse
Dec 14 - Salvation activates the superweapons, destroying a large number of Thargoid vessels and forcing the rest to flee from Maia, Merope and Delphi. Suspiciously, a message intercepted from Commodore Halloran indicated part of the operation included scanning the systems after deployment for "non-combatant disruption or casualties"
Dec 15 - Salvation issues a statement confirming the success of the superweapons, and revealed that while he could not deploy them currently in other incursion systems, in 3308 he would be ready to "deliver a decisive blow" against the Thargoids, declaring that Aegis was "finished" and the he was the only hope for humanity. Salvation urged the community to unite behind his "crusade"
Dec 21 - While progress was finally being made in turning the Thargoids back, reinforcements continued to pour into the Plieades, Coalsack and Witch Head battle zones. An anxious public demanded to know why more superweapons were not being deployed, but Salvation had gone dark once again. Scientists speculated that more time was needed to build up stockpiles of components, or Salvation was focused on a grander strategy to end the Thargoid threat in a single stroke

Jan 3 - Prime Minister Edmund Mahon and Sirius Corporation CEO Li Yong-Rui sign a Strategic Defence Pact in which Sirius Corp would support the Alliance Defence Force in anti-xeno operation, in exchange for certain undisclosed financial opportunities. This was approved in a rare closed-doors joint vote of the Alliance Assembly and the Council of Admirals. The exact terms of the Pact are classified.
Jan 5 - Ram Tah testifies on behalf of Admiral Aden Tanner at his court-martial. His analysis of the experimental equipment used in the superweapons, showed it was Guardian in origin, and likely related to devices found at the Proteus site months earlier. Ram Tah's theory was that it was an up-scaled Guardian weapon design that emitted electro-magnetic pulses at a specific frequency to disrupt the bio-mechanics of Thargoid vessels. The superweapons use of Guardian tech also provoked the Thargoids into attacking systems where the weapons were present in overwhelming numbers. The Federal Court suspended Tanner's trial while this new evidence was reviewed
Jan 10 - The Strategic Defence Pact goes into effect. Admiral Nikolas Glass of the Sirius Navy joins the Alliance's Council of Admirals as its 7th member.
Jan 12 - Ram Tah's evidence fails to save Admiral Tanner from disgrace, as he was found guilty and dishonorably discharged from the Federal Navy. Tanner's sentencing hearing was postponed at the request of Fleet Admiral Tayo Maikori, who ordered a full review of Ram Tah's findings
Jan 14 - PM Mahon grants permission for Sirius Corp to establish a presence in Alliance space. Four Sirius megaships arrive in Alioth, Arimpox, Di Jian and Reorte. Sirius advisors officially join the ADF and multiple government departments to streamline their joint operations
Jan 18 - The Alliance, Federation and Empire announce that following the recommendation of the Baumann Report, Aegis would be shut down. responsibility for anti-Thargoid millitary operations would devolve to the Federal Navy, Imperial Navy, Alliance Defence Force and Sirius Navy, each acting to defend their individual territories. Aegis' xenological research would be continued by departments of the Holloway Bioscience Institute, Imperial Science Academy and Olympus Village University. While the shutdown took effect immediately, it would take several months for complete demobilisation.
Jan 22 - The wreckage of the Aegis megaship Alexandria is found in the Wregoe TC-X B29-0 system. Independent pilots made the discovery after a search instigated by Alba Tesreau, former head of research at Aegis.
Feb 7 - A request by Aegis to be reinstated in light of revelations that Azimuth Biochemical was responsible for the Alexandria's disappearance, was denied
Feb 11 - Another wave of Thargoid incursions begins on the fringe of the core systems. A number of Aegis megaships that had not yet been decommissioned were pressed into service to provide emergency aid, as the new Superpower taskforces were not yet ready for deployment
Nauni
Feb 18 - Superpower taskforces were still not ready to deploy, and Salvation had chosen to avoid involvement, prioritising the refinement of the superweapon.
Mar 2 - Aegis submits a new request for reinstatement due to the new attacks, with Chief Administrator Carter Armstrong making the case that the superpowers were too distracted by internal situations, and Aegis could provide a united front to counter both the Thargoids and Azimuth Biochemical

Mar 23 - Taurus Mining Ventures send the megaships Musashi and Heart Of Taurus to the Synuefe CE-R C21-6 to perform a mining related research operation. Dr Ruben Carpenter, head of the companies research division provided a statement: “We have recorded some unusual radioactive signatures in the Synuefe CE-R c21-6 system. This has had a transformative effect on the molecular structure of certain naturally occurring substances. Our objective is to perform a detailed analysis of these irradiated materials and determine if they have value as mineable resources. Customised laboratories have been set up aboard both megaships, and work is already underway.”
Apr 18 - Salvation receives further military support from the Empire, Federation and Alliance. Previously, enlisted members had been forced to resign their commissions, but changes now permit temporarily serving on vessels owned by Salvation's partner Taurus Mining Ventures. Scientific journal The Empirical reported there was no evidence of atypical radiation detected in Synuefe CE-R C21-6 system. This raises questions as to the purpose of Taurus Mining Ventures' recent operation there
Apr 21 - Thargoids attack 3 stations in the core systems. Three Admirals are selected to mount a defence: Henry Paul Atherton of the Imperial Navy, Maxton Price of the Federal Navy and Rachel Ziegler of the Alliance Defence Force. With Aegis now disbanded, its fleet is now being operated by Frontline Solutions, a combat logistics corporation. Sources indicate a more permanent solution is being sought as Frontline CEO Imogen Le Ray is believed to be resistant to a long-term commitment of her companies resources to an anti-xeno effort. The Alliance, Federation and Empire are currently liasing with Salvation. As yet, Salvation has made no public statement

Apr 25 - Sirius Corporation has claimed that the recent Thargoid incursions proved the necessity of its strategic defence pact with the Alliance. Admiral Nikolas Glass: “This unexpected onslaught only underlines the Alliance’s need for military support. The Thargoids can strike anywhere at any time, and Allied systems such as Didio are vulnerable. Only with Sirius Corporation’s help can we ensure their safety.”. Journalists pointed out that the Council of Admirals had selected Admiral Rachel Ziegler to lead the taskforce, despite it being Glass's area of expertise, he replied: “Well, as you know, the pact is still within its trial period and hasn’t yet been ratified by the Assembly. So there are limits to how involved Sirius Corporation can be at this stage. I’m sure my colleague will do a fine job while I focus on providing broader support to the Didio system, such as additional secondments to Salvation’s fleet.”

May 5 - Professor Palin's Thargoid studies require an appeal for Meta-Alloys. “With escalating Thargoid activity in the core systems, it is increasingly important that we learn as much as possible about this species. Only through scientific study can we better comprehend their biomechanical nature and, where possible, enhance our defences against it.”
May 12 - Salvation triggers 3 superweapons in Didio, Novas and Sosong, completely repelling the Thargoid invasion there, and they immediately withdrew into hyperspace. Admirals Ziegler, Price and Atherton sent messages of congratulation to Salvation, who seems set to receive additional resources to improve superweapon production. For better or worse, it appears Salvation now plays a crucial role in humanity’s war against the Thargoids.
May 23 - Salvation makes a statement following his latest victory against the Thargoids: "This is Salvation. The deployment of my anti-xeno superweapons in the Didio, Novas and Sosong systems was highly effective, just as I anticipated. Billions of lives were undoubtedly saved as a result. Due to support from the Alliance, Empire and Federation, we have made a major breakthrough in utilising Guardian-based technology. Construction of the next generation of superweapons has already begun. These will allow us to deliver a truly overwhelming strike against the Thargoid species. The end of the war is finally within reach. Those who hold faith in my work will be vindicated, and humanity can at last close the chapter on this existential threat.”
Commodore Morag Halloran confirmed that Taurus Mining Ventures, Salvation’s partner organisation, had received a boost in resources from all three superpowers. This included seconded naval personnel, megaship supplies and advanced engineering equipment. The Alliance Defence Force, Federal Navy and Imperial Navy have stated they are now fully committed to working with Salvation on anti-xeno operations. Representatives from the Assembly, Congress and Senate expressed confidence that there would soon be decisive developments in the conflict with the Thargoids.
May 30 - An abandoned outpost in the DG Canum Venaticorum system reveals the true identity of The Witch and Salvation. Incredibly they seem to be the same person, Caleb Wycherley of Azimuth Biochemical. Alba Tesreau revealed that logs found there directly connected Azimuth Biochemical to INRA's development of the Mycoid bioweapon. She urged the superpowers to halt their collaboration with Salvation while the data was verified

Independent pilots claim they are being pulled out of hyperspace and attacked by octagonal ships. Those who survived the experience were convinced they had encountered an alien species, and named the aliens "Thargoids" after holo-images of the encounters appear to show the word "THARG" marked on the side of the vessels. As the news spread, leaked Federal intelligence reports indicated that the Thargoid attacks were likely provoked by human hostility; colonists in the Veliaze system, a location no longer present in cartographic records, had apparently come into contact with a Thargoid deputation and assaulted it out of ignorance shortly before the attacks began.
Veliaze was later discovered to have been renamed to Epsilon Indi
The Galactic Cooperative and the Intergalactic Naval Reserve Arm played a principal role in defending human space from the Thargoids during the ensuing conflict. While INRA tracked the Thargoids and developed the technology to stop them, Galactic Navy forces patrolled vulnerable systems. GalCop reassigned many of its trade vessels to perform military duties. In the course of the Thargoid War, GalCop also captured a number of Thargoid spacecraft for research and experimentation.
Eventually, the Thargoid conflict came to an end as the Thargoids departed from human space, ostensibly defeated by INRA's deployment of a devastating biological weapon called Mycoid, which is thought to have inflicted innumerable deaths.
3167 - Investigation into GalCops leadership found it riddled with corruption and was deceiving citizens about its economic stability
By August 16, 3172, Galcop had become weakened and fractured, and Project Equinox was shut down. Unfortunately, this occurred just as project lead Dr. Cassandra Lockhart discovered that the Thargoids had been sowing the seeds for their future return all along, and her warnings were ignored.
INRA recruited the famed CMDR John Jameson to deploy the mycoid weapon against the Thargoids. When persuading Jameson to accept the contract, INRA personnel emphasized the heroic role he would play in ending the war. Behind the scenes, they were contemptuous of Jameson despite his skills and reputation, and expected he would not return from his mission as it would take him deep into Thargoid territory with weapons that had to be launched in close proximity to their targets.
After successfully launching the Mycoid-armed missiles at a Thargoid Mothership and making his escape, Jameson was horrified to learn from his sensors that the weapon did much more than disable the enemy vessel, and was in fact killing every Thargoid on board. Unfortunately for Jameson, INRA had installed a program that shut down his ship's systems to ensure that he did not return from his mission. With his ship locked on a collision course with the planet HIP 12099 1 B, Jameson recorded one final log for his son.

Azimuth Biochemical / Taurus Mining Ventures / Azimuth Biotech
Azimuth Biochemical was based in the Chukchan system, originally active in the early 3100s. It sought to uncover alien technologies in order to develop them into new weapons to sell to the superpower millitary. It was also rumoured to maintain its own private army.
Azimuth was contracted to the INRA, where it was represented by a research team led by Caleb Wycherley, under whose leadership they assisted the development of the Mycoid bioweapon.
Subsequently, Azimuth was aquired by its business rival Pharmasapien, but both companies were dissolved in the time before the 34th century.
Azimuth secretly continued its operations, taking the name of Taurus Mining Ventures as it continued researching alien technologies, revealing this in the early 3300s as a figure identified as Salvation contacted independent pilots offering this new technology to counter the Thargoid conflict.
On Jun 30 3308, Salvation announced the renaming of Taurus Mining Ventures to Azimuth Biotech, stating that "Azimuth has no further need to conceal its operations".
Azimuth continued to develop weapons systems, but controversy was to follow with the discovery of Project Seraph and its links to Black Flight. After the failure of the Proteus Wave superweapon, and the apparent death of Salvation, the company leadership moved to CEO Torben Rademaker.

A planetary survey team led by Professor Penelope Carver, contracted by Azimuth Biochemicals, arrives in the Coalsack Nebula to survey the area. The Adamastor megaship is dispatched to retrieve the team. Contact with the ship and Carver's team is lost.
20 Oct 3111
Carver's team discover highly unusual organic life on the planet, with crystalline or metallic elements and chemistry they could not make sense of. Soon after they discover a crashed alien ship and retrieve an artefact from it, which starts causing interference to their base systems despite seeming to be inert. On the 27th, Carver made a report to Azimuth and was then ordered to cease all communication and await the arrival of Adamastor. A few days later the artefact had become "noisy", followed by a report that lights had shone down on the growths and "the night was opening up like a giant mouth".
30 Oct 3111
The Adamastor arrives in Musca Dark Region PJ-P B6-1 to retrieve the Carver expedition, and transport them and the samples to a "secure facility". On board were a group of mercenary soldiers, which was quite unexpected to the research team. The ship did not have appropriate shielding to prevent the alien artefact causing severe disruption to the ships systems, eventually causing the hyperdrive to fail completely. As the ship headed back towards Chukchan at sublight speed, Professor Carver escaped in a Sidewinder class vessel and crash landed in HIP 69200
30 Oct 3111
Dr Murphy is left behind on the surface as the Adamastor departs. He was out at the "singing stones", witnessing the soldiers arrive and attack the base, presumably killing most of the team. The soldiers came to find him, but "then they were all flying up, little toy soldiers thrown in the air, pulled up into the lights.."
31 Oct 3111
Professor Carver leaves a log in her crashed Sidewinder describing how the Adamastor quickly left orbit, leaving most of the team, and some of their soldiers behind.
The Adamastor's sister ship, the Hesperus, is on a scientific mission in the Barnards Loop area when it is attacked by mercenary soldiers employed by business rival Pharmasapien. The speed at which they took over convinced the security chief there had to be sleeper agents aboard, and that the same thing was likely to be taking place on the Adamastor. Lieutenant Kelemen was able to gather most of the research team and help them escape in the Proteus, before encrypting the main computer logs. After the evacuation, Private Velasco was able to sabotage the ship and poison the air supply, killing the mercenary attackers along with herself.

Jun 8 - The probationary period for the anti-xeno partnership between the Alliance and Sirius Corp ends. Prime Minister Mahon stated: "The Council of Admirals does not wish to rely exclusively on Salvation to protect Allied systems, and I concur with their assessment. Combining our defence force with Sirius’s resources will be a huge step toward forming an Alliance Navy, thereby increasing our anti-Thargoid fleet capabilities on a par with the Empire and Federation.”. However Alliance opposition was less convinced with Councillor Nakato Kaine responding: “In my view, Sirius Corporation remains an untrustworthy partner and has exerted a disruptive influence on the Alliance. I continue to oppose the strategic defence pact, and urge my fellow council members to prevent it being adopted as policy.”
Jun 10 - Professor Alba Tesreau reveals that the source that gave her the tip-off about the recent INRA base discovery, is none other than Subject D-2, who has been actively investigating Azimuth, confirming Aegis' suspicions that the Corporation was still active. “D-2 asked me to make the following message public: ‘Tell the Witch that I remember everything. I want him to know that the truth came from me.’”. Many Salvation supporters believe that the Project Seraph logs were fabricated by Aegis. Salvation is yet to make any official statement.

Jun 30 - Salvation moves key assets to the HIP 22460 system in preparation for a decisive strike against the Thargoids. The Bright Sentinel and Heart Of Taurus take up station in HIP 22460, with the Musashi and Glorious Prospect stationed in Pleiades Sector CW-U B3-2 for logistical support. Alliance, Federation and Empire forces have stationed AX Capital ships in HIP 22460, equipped with experimental AX weaponry.
Jun 30 - A coalition of Independent pilots has been destabilising Salvation's anti-xeno operation. Operation Wych Hunt has been undermining Azimuth Biotech in all systems where they have a presence. These Commanders are protesting against Salvation, claiming he is responsible for illegal activities, inhumane experimentation, and planning the genocide of the Thargoid race. "We do not support a mass murderer. Salvation, we can save ourselves."
Jul 7 - As Salvation appeals for contributions of Guardian relics to construct his "Proteus Wave" weapon in HIP 22460, Thargoids attack the system in force. The weapon is to be constructed on the surface of planet 10b, interfacing with one of the Thargoid structures there. This will amplify the Proteus electromagnetic pulse to shut down every Thargoid vessel within range.
Jul 29 - Salvation announces the completion of the Proteus Wave. The calibration process begins with the Thargoid ground site. Commodore Halloran reports that even greater numbers of Thargoid vessels are entering the system.
Aug 10 - Salvation's Proteus Wave is confirmed to have failed. Observers confirm that the weapon was activated on schedule, but only had a temporary effect on the Thargoids. Following the weapon firing, a second energy pulse tore through the system, disabling all human ships, which quickly came under devastating attack by the Thargoids. All project engineers are missing, presumed dead. The status of Salvation is unknown.

Anti-Thargoid operations continue in 42 N Persei, Chun Pindit and Tekkeitjal systems, the Federation has dispatched several experimental Farragut battle cruisers to assist.
Sep 16 - A special tribunal of the Federal Navy Criminal Court has deliberated the case of former Admiral Aden Tanner. They find that Tanner had been correct to say that the Salvation superweapon was designed to provoke a hostile Thargoid response. Tanner still disobeyed direct orders when he attacked Hind Mine, and thus he remains dishonorably discharged. In light of the context of the ethical argument to his attack, Tanner's sentence is commuted to time served and he is free to leave Federal custody.

Following Pharmasapien's attack, some of the Hesperus' science team escaped aboard the Proteus, an Anaconda class vessel. They landed on a planet that contained both crashed alien ships "resembling starfish" and ruins of an ancient civilisation. Their Xenoarchaeologist said it was as though he was "walking through the temples of forgotten gods". Seemingly, this was a battleground. The team retrieved a large crystal artefact from the ruins, suffering casualties to automated drone defences. While experimenting on the crystal, a massive radiation surge was triggered that killed the entire team. The priority of both the Adamstor and the Hesperus was to locate non-human technology that could be developed for the millitary market by Azimuth.

Aegis
A multinational research initiative that was joint founded by scientists from the Federation, Empire and Alliance, on Aug 4th 3303. Aegis goal was to pool the resources of all three superpowers to improve knowledge of the Thargoids.
The group was suspended and had most of its operations terminated following an investigation into the disappearance of the Alexandria megaship. Aegis was formally shut down on Jan 18 3308.
The group was re-formed on Feb 13 3309 following the massive Thargoid invasion of the core systems, after the failure of Salvation's Proteus Wave superweapon.

Seo Jin-Ae (Subject D-2)
Professor Alba Tesreau
Caleb Wycherley (The Witch) (Salvation)
Headed a research team contracted to INRA, when he was Azimuth's Vice-President of Research, assisting the development of the Mycoid bioweapon. During the weapons testing, he insisted on being present during a test on a live Thargoid subject. The captive Thargoid broke out of its holding cell and attacked, causing multiple fatalities and wounding Wycherley, resulting in a scar across his left eye, which turned completely white following treatment. This injury earned him the nickname The Witch.
Wycherley thought that the Mycoid would not result in the eradication of the Thargoids and was determined to exterminate them completely. This single-minded purpose led him to secure a regular supply of progenitor cells and cybernetic surgery to extend his life considerably to continue his relentless research.
In April 3307 Wycherley began making contact with independent Commanders under the name of Salvation, supplying weapons and gaining significant influence with the superpowers, leading up to his Proteus Wave superweapon development.
The superweapon's eventual deployment was a failure, with the Thargoids turning it back on the orbiting Bright Sentinel megaship, destroying it, resulting in Wycherleys apparent death at an estimated 250 - 300 years old, quite possibly the oldest living human in history.
Jan 12 - Azimuth Biotech announces the development of the Experimental Weapons Stabilizer to improve hardpoint capacity for AX combat ships. In the same statement CEO Torben Rademaker condemned the pardon of Aden Tanner, referring to him as a "war criminal".
Jan 26 - The class 3 Expermental Weapon Stabilizer is made available. this allows 1 extra AX weapon.
Jan 27 - The Enhanced Xeno Scanner is released, providing a range increase to 2km.
Jan 27 - Archon Delaine rallies the Kumo Crew to repel Thargoid invasion forces in the California Nebula.
Jan 30 - Aden Tanner formally resigns his commission with the Federal Navy, following his pardon. Tanner announced that he would continue to develop anti-xeno strategies as an independent millitary specialist.
Jan 31 - Princess Aisling Duval met with Emperor Arissa Lavaigny-Duval to discuss an Imperial contribution to reform Aegis.
Feb 1 - The class 5 Experimental Weapons Stabilizer is made available. This allows 2 extra AX weapons.
Feb 6 - The Alliance Assembly votes to make a contribution to Aegis if the agency is restored by the superpowers.
Feb 9 - The California Nebula is successfully defended from the Thargoids, but an attempt by Archon Delaine to sieze control of the regions ports was repelled.
Feb 10 - President Zachary Hudson and Shadow President Felicia Winters have united behind Federal backing for the reformation of Aegis.
Professor Alba Tesreau publicly thanked the leaders of the Federation, Alliance and Empire for their "renewed faith in the ideals that Aegis represents."
Feb 13 - The anti-xeno agency Aegis has been officially reformed by the Alliance, Empire and Federation. Initially founded in 3303 to centralize research into the Thargoids, as well as co-ordinate defence and rescue operations, it was disbanded in 3308.
Professor Alba Tesreau announced: “Aegis’s first research project is already underway. The engineer Petra Olmanova has approached us with preliminary designs for a method of allowing ships to survive longer within the Maelstroms’ corrosive clouds. We have assigned several metallurgy and chemistry experts to develop this further.”
Feb 16 - Populated systems in the Witch Head Nebula are attacked by Thargoids, devastating a number of ports including the base of engineer Chloe Sedisi
Feb 20 - Aegis prototypes a new module intended to increase a ships ability to survive within caustic environments. Professor Alba Tesreau made a statement:
“This new module functions along similar lines to a heatsink launcher. It is designed to channel the corrosive reaction experienced within a Thargoid Maelstrom to specific replaceable anodes prior to ejection, thereby extending a ship’s range and operating time. We hope this will allow more data to be acquired about these mysterious objects.”
Mar 2 - Aegis new Caustic Sink Launcher made available, allowing ships to withstand caustic environments.
Mar 20 - An anonymous source leaks information that Seo Jin-ae may be in serious jeopardy. She voluntarily left a private medical facility in January.
Engineer Kit Fowler discussed the rumour: “Something is definitely going on, people. The interstellar grapevine is buzzing with gossip about Seo Jin-ae. That cortical implant in her head, which provides some weird insight into Thargoid behaviour, makes her pretty much most valuable person in the galaxy right now.”
Mar 16 - Nemesis investigation logs
Seo Jin-Ae disappearance.
Mar 23 - Seo Jin-ae arrives safely in the Luyten's Star system aboard the Order of the Far God megaship, Testament.
A message was transmitted by the First Apostle of the True Chapters, a proactive sect of the pacifistic religion:“The one known to non-believers as Subject D-2 or Seo Jin-ae is sacred to us as the Preceptor – the first human to interpret the will of the Far God. We know her to be a holy emissary, on a personal pilgrimage that exposed her to great danger. I was able to convince my brethren to locate the Preceptor and offer her safe harbour from the heretics.”
Mar 30 - Aegis publishes a statement form Seo Jin-ae, who claims to have evidence that Salvation planned to escape death in HIP 22460.
“First of all, yes, Caleb Wycherley died when the Thargoids attacked the Bright Sentinel in HIP 22460. But, I believe, only physically. He was developing technology to automatically relocate his mind, an emergency protocol he named the Nemesis Failsafe.”
“I know how implausible that sounds, but the files I recovered from an Azimuth Biotech archive prove his intentions. For several years, Salvation ran a private project to reverse-engineer a Guardian artefact which could store consciousness. The design showed neural interactions as digital impulses, and made reference to exactly retaining his identity and memories.”
“Salvation had already extended his life to over 250 years, and was obsessed with staying alive until he could wipe out the Thargoids. I’m convinced that he has survived in some bodiless form, and that Azimuth has known all along.”
April 3 - Azimuth Biotech rejects Seo Jin-ae's unverified claim that Salvation survived by relocating his mind using advanced Guardian tech. CEO Torben Rademaker issued a statement:
“I can officially confirm that Azimuth Biotech has no knowledge of any project related to a ‘Nemesis Failsafe’. Frankly, suggesting that anyone could transmit their living mind across space stretches her credibility past breaking point.”
“Seo Jin-ae’s absurd outbursts have justified our fears that she suffers from paranoid delusions, and has falsified data to support her personal vendetta. And she now seems to have an exalted position among the Far God cultists. Only those deranged unfortunates would take her flights of fantasy seriously.”
April 24 - Aegis prototypes a new module designed to counteract the massive energy surge encountered in Thargoid maelstroms. Professor Alba Tesreau made a statement:
“Intense research into the Maelstroms by Allied, Federal and Imperial specialists has yielded practical results. We have designed a device to briefly insulate a ship against the overpowering effects of a Maelstrom’s energy wave. Typically, the wave physically repels all human ships and disrupts onboard electrical systems.”
“Combined with our caustic sink launcher, the Thargoid pulse neutraliser will enable access to the innermost regions of the alien clouds. My hope is that this breakthrough will reveal knowledge about the Thargoid invasion fleets that we desperately need.”
April 27 - Aegis prototype Pulse Neutralisers have succeeded in allowing transit through the energy surge at the centre of a Maelstrom. Several remote controlled probes were launched and made it through the energy surge. Broadcasts from the probes were lost soon afterwards. Aegis is working on a production schedule for the new module.
May 4 - Seo Jin-ae gives a warning about entering the Maelstroms. Aden Tanner, currently working with Aegis, released a statement:
“Seo Jin-ae approached me in a state of distress shortly after the first tests of the Thargoid pulse neutraliser. She claimed that, as the probes passed through Taranis’s energy wave, she perceived a change among the Thargoid voices. ‘Like being woken up by insect bites,’ was how she described the sensation.”
“‘The Thargoids aren’t as oblivious to our tests as it sometimes seems,’ she told me. I pressed her for more details, but there was only one thing she was convinced about: ‘They understand we’ve found a way to push deeper into the Maelstrom. They know we’re coming.’”
May 9 - Aegis Thargoid Pulse Neutraliser is made availabel, allowing ships to defeat the massive energy surge in Maelstroms.
May 10 - Aegis confirms that the first ships equipped with the TPN entered the inner regions of the Maelstroms. Rear Admiral Daniel Perry, the Federal Navy's liason to Aegis reported:
“Armed ships crewed by military and xenology specialists have now been sent into each Maelstrom. These pathfinder missions will attempt to gather as much tactical and environmental data as possible.”
“We have also received information from Commanders who returned intact from the Maelstroms’ core areas. We are unable to authenticate these accounts at present, but they are being collated and analysed. The Allied, Federal and Imperial high commands will authorise an official report in due course.”
May 12 - Personnel exploring planetary settlements within Thargoid-occupied space have encountered alien drone vessels that became extremely hostile, attacking ground forces.
May 16 - Exploration of the inner regions of the Maelstroms reveals the existence of colossal Thargoid constructs. The core environments of all 8 Maelstroms are consistent in layout and extremely dangerous. Once past the energy wave, there is an asteroid field to navigate. There is no obvious reason why the asteroids have been gathered here, but Thargoid vessels patrol this area, including a new class of Thargoid ship. Despite initial references to "Motherships", there is little evidence to confirm exactly what purpose these structures serve. The other popular reference to "Hive ship" infers that each carries a community ruled by a Thargoid Queen. While INRA theorised the heirarchy of Thargoid society, the existence of such figures has never been confirmed.
May 18 - The new type of Thargoid vessel discovered in the Maelstroms is now interdicting vessels within the Thargoid controlled systems. This craft has been designated a "Glaive" due to its blade-like protrusions.
Aden Tanner provided more detail following a research misson. The Glaive is extremely aggressive, attacking any human ship within range. It has high-energy weapons taking the form of lightning bolts similar to an Interceptor, the Glaive is faster and more manoeverable. The Glaive can also disable Guardian based weaponry.

Jun 9 - Studying the Titans becomes a priority for Azimuth Biotech, keen to learn more about the alien motherships.
Director Xavier Rousseau, head of their Bioscience Division stated: “The Thargoid Titans present us with a range of exciting unknowns. What technologies were involved in their construction? We do not know. What exactly is a Titan’s hull comprised of? We cannot tell. How do the glowing openings on its superstructure work? We are not certain. Do they perform the same function as our docking bays? We can only speculate.”
“How can we find these answers? By analysing whatever fragments and residues can be obtained directly from the Titans themselves. What military breakthroughs will result? What scientific marvels could be unlocked? What commercial opportunities might arise? We at Azimuth Biotech will discover all this and more.”
Jun 15 - Aegis and Azimuth Biotech issue competing initiatives for independent pilots to obtain and deliver samples from the Thargoid Titans.
Jul 20 - Traces of a distress call from the Dedicant megaship are detected in the LP 714-58 system. FIA specialists are dispatched to the system to investigate.
Azimuth releases a new, modified AX weapon. The Overcharged, gimballed AX Multicannon with Auto-loader is made available.
Jul 27 - The missing Dedicant megaship is close to being located. Scrambled messages were uncovered in the LP 714-58, Wuniez, Olurung and Kwakimo. Decryption efforts led to the discovery of another beacon in the HIP 19912 system, where the original transmission was revealed:
FEDERAL ESCORT TEAM ALPHA, ASSIGNED TO ORDER OF THE FAR GOD MEGASHIP ‘DEDICANT’, PRISONER TRANSFER MISSION HAS FAILED, SIGNIFICANT NON-LETHAL DEFENSIVE MEASURES ENCOUNTERED, MAJORITY OF ORDER OF THE FAR GOD PRISONERS ESCAPED, PRISONERS INITIATED DEDICANT HYPERDRIVE, ESCORT TEAMS ALPHA, BRAVO, CHARLIE AND CULTISTS REMAIN ON BOARD, ‘DEDICANT’ CURRENT LOCATION UNKNOWN, ADVISE TRACING METADATA COORDINATES TO THIS MESSAGE, REQUEST IMMEDIATE FEDERAL NAVY ASSISTANCE.
The search for the megaship continued.
Aug 3 - The lost megaship Dedicant is located in HIP 19600, showing signs of Thargoid attack. All inhabitants are missing.
“We can confirm that the Dedicant has been discovered adrift in the HIP 19600 system. There is evidence that the Thargoids penetrated the hull in multiple locations, and thousands of escape pods were launched. Unusually, there are no bodies onboard and we have not been able to locate any of the escape pods. The whereabouts of all three FIA security teams and over 8,000 Far God cultists cannot be determined.”
“A series of personal logs, portraying some harrowing experiences, are helping us to piece together what happened during the Dedicant’s disappearance. We are liaising with military intelligence to learn more.”
Aug 9 - A new type of Thargoid vessel is hyperdicting human ships and capturing living passengers. Aegis designates the hunter class ship as a "Scythe". Aden Tanner stated:
“This Thargoid vessel has been designed not just for combat, but to hyperdict ships and extract human beings from them. Our observations of its tactics suggesting that abduction is its primary purpose.”
“A Scythe’s initial attack mirrors that of its Glaive cousin, by attempting to disable frame shift drives and deplete shields. It then launches a unique strike to makes passenger cabins and cargo holds uninhabitable. The resulting escape pods are rapidly drawn onboard onto the Scythe intact.”
It is likely that the Dedicant encountered these Scythes, was forced to abandon the ship and were abducted en-mass.

Aug 14 - An independent explorer reports an unusual incident involving a Thargoid vessel, hundreds of light-years away from the invasion:
“I’d been gathering exploration data for weeks without seeing another soul. Boring, I know, but I like a quiet life. As I jumped out of the Wregoe GA-X B3-0 system, my ship rocked violently and I panicked, thinking the hyperdrive had failed. I barely saw it at first, black against the black of space, until its outline glowed. A Thargoid interceptor. Just like on the newsfeeds, but right outside my canopy.”
“I’ve never been in combat before, and my ship carries no weapons anyway, so I thought this was the end of me. My heart was drumming as I stared at the alien, and it stared back like some giant lidless eye. A writhing light lashed out, this rasping howl came over the comms, and then… it left. I wasn’t dead, which was quite the surprise.”
“I watched it gliding away, its petals rotating and revolving, sort of beautifully I suppose. It actually turned its back on me, like I was some insignificant speck unworthy of attention. I’ve never been so glad to be boring.”
Aug 15 - news feeds and ICE-casts have reacted to Aegis theory that the Thargoids have captured tens of millions of living humans. One account in particular was published, from Imperial auxiliary Commander Luca Redondo:
“It was a sickening sight, watching Scythes hunt down survivors. A part of me wanted to start blasting the escape pods rather than let those poor people be eaten, or experimented on, or whatever the hell the Thargoids want them for. There was nothing my squadron could do to save them, not without risking the refugees we were carrying. I don’t think I’ll be sleeping well for a long time.”
Aug 17 - Wreckage from a past conflict between the Guardian and Thargoid races is found in the Wregoe BU-Y B2-0 system
The crashed remains of Thargoid vessels, alongside structures of Guardian origin, are located on Wregoe BU-Y b2-0 1 c. Conflict between the two species occurred millions of years ago, but physical evidence of this is extremely rare. The only comparable site, in the Trapezium Sector YU-X c1-2 system, was initially found two centuries ago by the Azimuth Biochemicals ship Proteus and rediscovered in 3307.
Aug 31 - The Thargoids unexpectedly abandon the region around Wregoe BU-Y B2-0, days after humans discover it. Aden Tanner gave a statement:
“Our pilots can no longer detect a single Thargoid ship anywhere in that region. In military terms, they have undertaken a full tactical withdrawal. It usually requires overwhelming firepower to drive out Thargoid forces, especially from multiple systems. In this case, there was no fleet action or anti-xeno operation sufficiently large to cause this response.”
Sep 1 - A private discussion between Aegis leadership is made public. After a brief period of speculation, Seo Jin-ae herself confirmed that she released the logs. Seo indicated that rumours circulating on ‘alternative ICE channels’ of Aegis withholding information from the public were false, and that Tesreau intended to announce evidence of human abductions even before the Dedicant tragedy brought the news to prominence.
Sep 7 - The 11 megaships co-ordinating evacuation efforts from Thargoid invaded systems are due to move closer to the active conflict areas.
“Shortening the distance between systems which require humanitarian support and the megaships responsible for coordinating that support is important. Until now we have urged caution to maintain their current safe positions, since these vessels are obvious targets for Thargoid attack. But as our brave pilots continue to regain territory and push the alien forces back, we feel confident that this is the right decision.”
Sep 14 - The Pulse Wave Xeno Scanner is released by Aegis. This new device can locate human life signs on Thargoid Titans.
Sep 25 - Human life signs are confirmed beneath the hulls of the Thargoid Titans. The urgency to mount a rescue operation intensifies.
Many pilots equipped with the updated pulse wave xeno scanner detected signals that match living humans on every Titan mothership. As a result, Aegis has prioritised finding a way to recover the abducted. A potential solution has emerged, reportedly via a low-ranking engineer within Sirius Corporation.
“Li Yong-Rui has shared Sirius Corporation’s projects to counter Thargoid abductions, and this has accelerated our work. Among their research was a blueprint that repurposes sub-surface displacement missiles – a commonly used mining tool – to breach Thargoid vessels and expose captured escape pods.”
Oct 5 - Aegis releases the new Sub-Surface Extraction Missile, a tool designed to safely extract bio-storage capsules from Thargoid titans.
Oct 6 - Aegis Xenologists focus their efforts on new mysterious alien growths reported on multiple planets and moons in the Trianguli sector. These have been designated Barnacle Matrix Sites due to their resemblance to the Barnacles that produce Meta-Alloys, but are far greater in size and complexity.
Oct 10 - The first humans rescued from the Thargoid Titans have started to arrive, almost all of whom have so far survived extraction. All recovered individuals are being assessed by medical specialists. Aegis released this statement to the media:
“In each case, research teams successfully cracked open the capsules and removed the comatose person. They were suspended within a chemically complex gel, not unlike amniotic fluid, with tubes supplying breathable air and basic nutrients. Between thirty and ninety minutes later, the person wakes.”
“All recovered individuals are currently being kept in strict medical quarantine under military guard. Molecular scans are being conducted to ensure that no traces of Thargoid material remains, and a period of long-term observation now begins.”
Oct 23 - Humans rescued from the Titans remain under strict quarantine and supervision. professor Alba Tesreau spoke:
“Each resuscitated individual has undergone an exhaustive range of physical scans and psychological evaluations. Some are being treated for stress-related conditions and mental trauma, but otherwise they appear to be unharmed. With no clear evidence that these people have been infected or influenced by the Thargoids in some manner, Aegis has sent a number of proposals to superpower governments as they consider the next steps.”
Thargoid Barnacle Matrix sites discovered
Oct 31 - The rapid evolution of the Barnacle Matrix sites into colossal Spires sparks intense scrutiny and concern. Dr Maximo Fonseca discussed the development:
“There’s no doubt that these twisting, biomechanical towers are important to the Thargoids. Each site is defended by highly aggressive drones, including a new type designated the ‘Banshee’. Larger Thargoid vessels also routinely come and go, in a manner similar to ships docking with an outpost.”
“Some believe that each site is an alien city – a xenopolis, if you will – and that this marks the start of a colonisation programme. But I believe the Thargoids remain on a war footing. Either way, we are bringing together our finest xenologists to decipher their function as rapidly as possible.”
Thargoid Spire sites discovered.
Thargoid Banshee discovered
Professor Ishmael Palin commented on the Spires:
“The construction of permanent surface structures confirms that the Thargoids have long-term plans. I’ve studied scans that indicate organic and mechanical processes taking place within each spire. My guess is they’re industrial in nature, the equivalent of our extraction factories. It’s possible they are producing or refining vast quantities of mineral substances to supply the Thargoid war machine.”
“Many pilots have already seen fit to provide me with compounds extracted from Thargoid spire sites, which has given my research an initial boost. Further samples can be delivered to Abel Laboratory or the bartender at Baird Gateway in the Arque system.”
Nov 3 - People who have been rescued from Thargoid Titans remain in quarantine, but can soon expect family visits and access to comms networks. Deputy Prime Minister Angela Corcoran, coordinating the Alliance's involvement with Aegis commented:
“All abductees are being monitored for signs of Thargoid physical or mental influence. So far, I’m pleased to say, these test results remain negative. Therefore, those from Allied systems are now permitted to receive visitors, while remaining under strict quarantine conditions. They are also being granted direct access to comms and public media. I understand that Federal, Imperial and most independent authorities will shortly follow suit with their own citizens.”
Director Nassim Qadir, head of medical research at Azimuth Biotech had the following quote:
“Isolating all the returnees was prudent, but they should not be treated like normal people. The Thargoids went to great lengths to capture living humans, and we have not yet determined the reason. It’s possible they are acting as carriers of an alien pathogen, or affected in some other way that Aegis’s inferior procedures cannot detect.”
“We propose that Azimuth Biotech takes exclusive control of processing all those recovered from the Titans. We have the techniques, equipment and experience in researching human-xeno interactions. Only after being subjected to an intensive battery of examinations should these subjects have their civil rights and freedoms returned.”
