- - - - Standardized Diagnostic Assessment: Standardized diagnostic assessment uses well-defined testing methods to evaluate a student's knowledge, and identify any existing gaps. These assessments provide teachers with a more in-depth analysis of a student's learning weaknesses and strengths.

      - Informal Diagnostic: Informal diagnostic assessment happens spontaneously before a new learning experience begins. For Example- Teacher ask her students a few questions about a lesson before It begins.
- - - - Transfer of learning for students to apply knowledge beyond basic facts and procedures and to develop mental habits such as thinking and inquiry processes (Maier, et. al. 2020).
      - Help teachers gauge the levels of student understanding, help the teacher to correct any student misunderstandings, and provide instruction needed to move thinking and learning along (Maier, et. al. 2020).
      - Teachers can make improvements in learning and measuring learning (Maier, et. al. 2020).
    - - Presentations
        This activity can take time for students and can be collaborative. The basis for the presentation may be to provide information, teach a skill, report progress, or persuade others. Students may choose to add audio, audio-visuals, slides, or otherwise to help to illustrate elements in their speech. They work well across the curriculum and in any discipline as long as their are clear expectations for students to work with from the beginning (Kelly, 2019).
      - Portfolios
        Can include items that students have created and collected over a period, class terms, etc. Art portfolios are for students who want to apply to art programs or for an exhibition. Another example is when students create written portfolios to show progression from the start of a class to the end. They can be any discipline or a combination of disciplines. Portfolios typically include students' best works and are a selection of artifacts that hopefully can be used for academic careers. Some may include reflections (Kelly, 2019).
      - Performances
        collaborative activity that students can create, perform, and/or provide a critical response.
        Examples of Performances=dance, recital, dramatic enactment, prose or poetry interpretation.
        These kinds of performance based assessments can take time, therefore, there must be clear timing and planning execution. A rubric with resources must be readily available and are critical (Kelly, 2019).
      - Projects
        Projects are commonly used by teachers as performance based activities. These can be research papers to artistic representations of information learned. They may require students to apply their knowledge and skills while completing the task. They are aligned with higher levels of creativity, analysis, and synthesis. Students might need to complete reports, diagrams, maps, etc and can be either individual or collaborative, group work. Journals can also be used with projects to record student reflections and as a record of participation (Kelly, 2019).
      - Exhibits & Fairs
        Teachers can create exhibits or fairs for students to display their work. These can be historical fairs, science fairs, auctions, to art exhibits. Students work on productions, products, or items that will be exhibited to the public or community. Exhibits show in-depth learning and may include feedback from the audience and/or viewers and those attending the exhibit. Sometimes, students might need to defend their work or explain their interpretations to their audiences. Some of these fairs and/or exhibits could result in extrinsic rewards like trophies, rewards, scholarships, etc (Kelly, 2019).
      - Debates
        Teaches students about varied opinions and points of view. Skills could include research, search and retrieval, media literacy, argument literacy, reading comprehension, evidence evaluation and analysis, public speaking and other necessary 21st century skills. There can be fishbowl debates, mock trials, etc and the levels could be increased per grade or proficiency (Kelly, 2019).

        Frequent progress monitoring
        a student’s academic performance is regularly assessed between benchmarks to determine if the current instruction and intervention is positively impacting student achievement or if adjustments need to be implemented (Bennett, 2017).
        
        Formative Assessment informal questioning, feedback, peer assessment, self-assessment, formal analysis, tests, exams, essays, that are target setting

        Examples of Assessments AS Learning
        
        Formative Assessments Learner takes responsibility for their own learning and asks questions about their learning and the learning process and explores how to improve (Harapnuik, 2020).
        
        Ipsative assessments Ipsative feedback informs the learner how s/he has progressed since the previous assessment and how effective response to developmental feedback has been (Harapnuik, 2020).
        
        Self Assessments
        the involvement of learners in making judgements about their achievements and the outcomes of their learning (Harapnuik, 2020).
        
        Peer assessments
        provides a structured learning process for students to critique and provide feedback to each other on their work. It helps students develop lifelong skills in assessing and providing feedback to others, and also equips them with skills to self-assess and improve their own work (Harapnuik, 2020)..
