biology assesment revision part 2
cell division
cells divide into two cells that are the same size as the first they divide thrught enlargement and splitting into to cells howver they go back to the origanal shape
this is how plants grow by enlargment and division of cells
life cycles- flowering plants
1- the seed germinates
2- the roots and shoots emerge
3- leaves develop and the plant begins to photosynthesis
4- the plant grows and matures and flowers are formed
5- pollination occurs
6- fertilisation occurs
7- a seed forms and a fruit may develop around the seed
8- seeds are dispered by wind or animals
life cycles- human
1- a sperm cell fertilises an egg cell
2- the embryo develops
3- the foetus grows
4- gametes( sperm and egg cells) can be formed
5- the baby is formed
6- growth occurs and the human reaches maturity
7- sexual reproduction occurs
plant cells
a plant cell has three things a animal cell does not have: permant vacuole- Filled with cell sap to help keep the cell turgid.
cell wall- provided the cell with support
chloroplast- is to conduct photosynisis
life cylcle- butterfly
1- eggs are laid and larve develop
2- a larva emerges from an egg
3- the capterpillar feeds and grows then moults by shredding its exoskeleton
4- a chrysilist forms around the pupa
5- metamorphis occurs and a butterfly emerges
6- the butterfly reproduces by sexual reproduction
puberty- females
one of the first signs of puberty in human female is that the breats start to develop
the females menstrual cycle begins
egg cells are released for the first time
females can not reproduce until they have gone through puberty
puberty- males
one of the first signs of puberty in a human male is that the testicles start to get bigger
sperm cells are made for the first time
puberty allows males to make sex cells
animal cells
cell membrane- controls what enters and excits the cell nucleus- contains DNA and controls what happens within the cell mitrohondria- where most respiration happens in the cell
ribosomes- synesthises proteins
cytoplasm- where the chemical reactions happen
