disadvantages- less variety, certain products can only be grown around certain times of the year.
genetically modified foods: **advantages- cheaper, fresh for longer, enhancements of the food, insect resistant, crops can grow all year round, less pesticides.
disadvantages**- long term safety is unknown, lack of clear labelling, could cause allergic reactions, eco issues
