How Art Was Impacted by World War 2: By Emily Vollmer
Propaganda:
"Information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view."
Propaganda in World War 2 shaped public views of the war. Artwork played a big part in this because of the famous images used to shape the public's image about the enemy.
Joining the Army:
America needed more people to join the military so artwork and posters helped to inspire men to join the military.
War Effort at Home:
While the fighting was overseas, America still needed people to support from home. Whether they were working in factories, or were collecting supplies from home, artwork inspired people to do all they could to help the troops from home.
Women Join the War:
In World War 2, women started to really get invovled in war efforts, both in factories and in military service. Artwork and posters of the time inspired women to help with the fight.
