How do I integrate technologies in project?
For editing I used Premiere Pro because I found it very advanced and one of the easiest editing apps to use so I hardly faced any problems with it. There I pasted all the footages which I had during filming the scenes and after that I put them in the order I wanted them to be in. Also there I added music downloaded from Jamendo and BFI logo from YouTube. During the moment when the music was played it was hard to hear what certain certain character says so in some moments I lowered the volume of music. Except the cuts I also used the transitions like fades and dissolving. The fade in was used to start a film and then I used the dissolves while skipping from one scene to another. For the end of movie I decided not to add fade out so the scene quickly moved into black screen. I decided to use it because it more the cliffhanger feeling as the hard rock n roll music.
For the recording I used the Nikon camera. At the beginning I was quite anxious because it was my first time to record with the camera (I never even held such camera in my hands). But now I can say that I got used to it. To be honest it was although fun but not easy because during the filming the camera was on a stand and because of many different shots we had to move camera and stand very often. But as a result we had a lot of fun and we our team got more experience which is great.
In YouTube I was looking for an opening logo because each film has the production studio logo. I chose the BFI. I found out that you can copy the YouTube link and place into YouTube downloader. The small problem was that not all of the links are allowed to be downloaded but luckily the BFI logo video was fine. I pasted the link of video into downloader and then it gave the file which I already could used for editing.
My laptop MacBook Pro is where I wrote the pitch, script and storyboard. Firstly I wrote a summary of my future project after what I started doing a pitch of my film with the introduction, characters, plot and conclusion. And then I switched to storyboard and scripts so all of the dialogue and planning was made on my laptop
In Blogger I upload the blogs which are based on the topics that I discuss at the moment. Because this year the topic is thriller then my blogs are connected to thriller theme. In the beginning I wasn't sure what I need this for because I did not expect that I would be doing blogs. Later when understood this app, I started uploading many blogs about different topics such as history of thrillers, neonoir, narrative theories etc.
Jamendo is a website of free music. At first I wanted to use the Upbeat music but almost all of the songs asked for a paid subscription so I switched to Jamendo where almost all songs are free to download. Music plays an impressive role in the film because we've got three genres: jazz, ambient and rock. In the beginning we've got jazz which symbolizes the peaceful atmosphere. The cafe scene has ambient because this is a very anxious moment because the stranger reveals to main character all the information he knows about him. And in the end the hard rock is played giving us the cliffhanger because the audience will probably be interested to find out what will happen next.
Exercise book is the book where I write all the theories and terminologies which can be very useful. Here I wrote everything which was helpful during filming my task like shots list, representation, narrative theories, cuts and transitions etc.
Voiceover is used to add some noises which weren't in the original filmmaking process such as phone ringing or the cafe crowd sound. I think that it was the good decision because the noise of people in the cafe or ringing phone is the same part of story as other props. It gives more life to the film so the audience can feel that the world where the plot is set is real.
