Virtue ethics puts this the other way round- right character comes before right behaviour
Bowie states-" virtue theory is interested in defining good people and the qualities that make them good"
Schneewind- "it seems to be commonly agreed that a virtue-centred view see character at the core of morality and supposed that the central moral question is not 'what ought i do?' but 'what sort of person am I to be?'

Aquinas considered cardinal virtues to be opposite end of spectrum from seven capital vices:
Pride, Avarice, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Anger & Sloth
