How can we distinguish between good and bad interpretations? Discuss with reference to Arts and one other area of knowledge
-
The arts
The different genres of art can change how people interpret art. People studying/engaging with one type will view art differently than if they were not. The definition of art changes and so the way they classify good and bad is changed.
Interpretation depends on how you view it, the artist could have a different reason for creating the art piece than thought - intentional fallacy and artist's intention
Is good based on the study and mastery of techniques or is good based on how the piece of art makes you feel? Which one is more relevant and who gets to decide that
