Assessment AS Learning
Sometimes titled Summative Assessment
Used to ensure that students are progressing towards standards

Clear goals are provided to enable students to perform at their best
Based on the understanding that all students can learn and improve given the right circumstances - feedback, motivation, differentiated tasks, reflection
Student Self-Reflection: This allows for a metacognitive approach for students to understand how they are learning. This is a great assessment tool with the close aid of an instructor because it allows for students to get a better grasp on their own learning, and they are able to even set their own learning goals. Students that become responsible for their own learning often take more risks in their learning, widening their overall breadth of knowledge.
