DNA
DNA carries genetic information. It has all the instructions that a living organism needs to grow, reproduce and function.
-
-

Key words
Natural Selection
The process where animals/plants that are better adapted to their environment tend to survive and produce more offspring.
During times of drought, the finches with the larger beaks survived better than those with smaller beaks. During rainy times, more small seeds were produced and the finches with smaller beaks survived better.
Survival of the Fittest
The continued existence of animals/plants over hundreds of years which are best adapted to their environment, with the extinction of others.
Deer mice that migrated changed from dark brown to light brown to hide better from predators in the sand.
Variation
Any difference between cells, individual organisms, or groups of organisms of any species caused either by genetic differences or by the effect of environmental factors which change the body
-
Gene/Seed banks
They store thousands of different types of seeds in case that plant dies out and they need to be reintroduced back into the wild
-
-
-
Everyone that goes into the vault of seeds has to wear special suits so they don't bring in diseases
