Sample size - 2000 infants were used from 8 countries allowing for it to be more reliable and have better generalisability however, there was only a small sample of cultures represented.
Methodology - Lab experiment so variables could be easily controlled for high repeatability. However, it may not reflect reality.
Observers - high inter-observer reliability as a lab study, but observers may have been looking for different things.

Methodology - could have tested someone who wasn't the primary caregiver as only mothers were used. Later discovered to be 4 attachment types including 'disorganised/disinhibited'.
