PRACTICES THAT DEVELOP SKILLS, TECHNIQUES + TACTICS
ADAPTATIONS TO PRACTICES
ENVIRONMENT

PRACTICES + SITUATIONS
CONDITIONED PRACTICES
-
Participants need to be able to complete a skill, technique, or tactic. Then put it into a competitive session.
-
ISOLATED PRACTICES
Breaking down skills, techniques, tactics into parts.
EXAMPLE: Performing a serve in badminton with no return into a hoop on the other side. Giving feedback.
-
COMPETITIVE SITUATIONS
This is when the coach will create a competitive situation and practice a tactic they would use in an actual game, incorporating the rules/laws of the game.
An example, would be practising set pieces in football. Setting up free kicks and corners whilst applying the offside rule and fouls in general.
OFFENSIVE
-
In team sports, participants will have positions that they practice in.
In individual sport, participants will focus on the disadvantages of the opponents.
-
EVALUATION OF PRACTICES
EFFECTIVENESS
-
EXAMPLE: Passing rondo drill that keeps getting intercepted by defenders. It could be adapted to have less defenders so passes can take place.
