THEME IN PASSIVE CLAUSES
The use of the passive allows other elements other than the agent, which in active clauses would be part of the rheme, to be introduced as theme.

Imperative clauses are used when you want someone to do something. So it is natural that the starting point, the theme, should be the action in question

Often functioning to code the speaker’s or writer’s personal judgementon meaning. l (expressing some sort of attitude towards a statement)
