HISTORY
FIRST ERA
Founded in 1903 as a newspaper by women, for women with feminist ideologies.
"I intend it to be really a mirror of feminine life as well on its grave as on its lighter sides ... to be entertaining without being frivolous, and serious without being dull.
in 1904, all of the female journalists were fired as the newspaper rebranded to be pictorial ( mainly featuring pictures )
by the 300th issue, it was the second largest morning newspaper in the country.
a key editor of the mirror was personally friends with adolf hitler. readers of the mirror were encouraged to join the british union of facists
during the 1930's, the paper was changed from a conservative paper for the middle classes to a left wing, they included more images and larger headlines and less stories.
SECOND ERA

The paper changed focus to appeal to more readers, but failed and lost readers alongside many print newspapers such as the sun
Morgan was fired in 2004 for displaying fake photos of prisoners being abused by british soldiers in iraq.
