Gender roles in Frankenstein
Edward, Giulia and Francesca
Passage 187- "Tell me [...] no other happiness"
Elizabeth is presented by Victor's Frankenstein and Elizebeth herself as an object for Victor's happiness: "our marriage would render me eternally miserable, unless it were the dictate of your own free choice"
Elizabeth's role is in contrast with Vitor's role as he seems to have all the power over the decisions of whether him and Elizabeth should marry or not: "You perhaps regard as your sister without any wish that she might become your wife"
Passage 118. "the merchant commanded his daughter to think no more of her love, but to prepare to return with him to her native country.
