women's suffrage movement (1848-1917) : For decades women were not treated equally in America and our ancestors had to fight for the rights we now have today. it took years and years for women's rights activists to get the equality rights they deserved. Some well known activists are Susan B. Anthony , Sojourner Truth , Elizabeth Cady Stanton & more. The National Women's Suffrage Association & Americans Women's Suffrage Association were the two groups brought together that lead the women's suffrage movement. Some of the main goals of the movement were to get equal voting rights for all women , access to the same education opportunities as men, equal pay and wages within the workplace , marriage rights & custody rights . Overall, it was very successful and is still today. The Women's Rights Movement affected my life in many positive ways... It gave me the same equal rights that men have and I wont be discriminated against because of my gender thanks to this movement (it gave me voting rights, equal education, pay, job opportunities and so much more).
