Present Perfect
It is one of the verb tenses of the present in English.
Its correct use is necessary to express experiences or memories that occurred a long time ago, but are still remembered or important today.
Past Simple
is used for events or situations that occurred in the past

Structure of the present perfect
Subject + auxiliary have + Verb Participle + complement
SINCE: to show the point of the time when the action started.
Paul has been in London since January.
FOR: to show the period of time when the action was made.
They have studied for ten hours
Present perfect with SINCE and FOR
We use Subject + have/has + past participle of the main verb
Examples:
He + has + eaten + vegetables all his life.
Luca and Susan + have + lost + the keys.
