The EU are banning all single use plastic cutlery, cotton buds, straws and stirrers
Plastic is a material consisting of a wide range of manmade polymers that are malleable and so can be moulded into solid objects. Oil and natural gas are the main raw materials used to make plastic.
8.3 billion tonnes of plastic has been created. Of that, only 9% has been recycled.
