Research Development Based on the Quantitative Approach
Difference between a Research Question and a Research Problem
Research Problem
It is a way of designing the question as a "series of statements", which provide "some background and a logical flow towards the direction of the study".
To familiarise the reader with the topic being researched
It must be well structured
types of concepts
Difference Research Problem
The problem statement is used to make comparisons and contrasts.
Descriptive Research Problem
Describes the situation of a particular issue.
Relational Research Problem
Investigates a relationship that connects two or more variables.
Casuist Research Problem
Determining right and wrong in behavioural issues
Research Question
describes the route of their study as an overarching question to be answered by the research
Research Question
What is a Research Question?
An interrogatory written in a concise and concrete form as a summary on a specific topic under study in the research.
A specific area that starts with a research question
It should be clear, narrow, concise and precise.
Examples of research questions taken from the Teacher toolkit founded by Ross Morrison McGill in 2010.
What are the underlying ideas of geographical differences in educational attainment?
What can cognitive science and neuroscientific developments tell us about effective teaching approaches?
How can schools best identify children’s mild to moderate mental health needs, and what role can early intervention play in preventing escalation?

Research Project Steps
1.- Importance of formulating a Research Problem
Formulating a research problem is the first step
It helps us to determine
Study design
The type of sampling strategy
The type of analysis
A research problem is the key part
establishes
Importance of the topic because it implies the opportunity to do empirical research
Identifies a need for the study
provides a focus
Provides a brief summary of the investigation.
2.-
Evaluation of a problem
The significance
It is research on a specific research problem.
Usefulness in an educational decision-making situation
It is the action of provoking more questions originating
The practicality to be investigated
The research problem must be researchable
Suitability for the researcher
It should be interesting for the researcher
Ethical suitability
Investigate a topic without violating ethical values.
