Respiration - Coggle Diagram
Respiration
Fermination
Animal cells
- This yields energy in the form of 2 ATP
- The animal cells convert the pyruvate into lactate
Stage 1 - Starts in the Cytoplasm where glucose is broken down by enzymes to 2 molecules of pyruvate
-
ATP
-
ATP transferred energy for:
- Muscle cell contraction,
- Cell division
- Protein sythesis
- transmission of never impulses, and
- Active transport
Aerobic Respiration
Stage 1 - Starts in the Cytoplasm where glucose and oxygen is broken down by enzymes to 2 molecules of pyruvate
- This yields energy in the form of 2 ATP
-
- The glucose is fully broken down into carbon dioxide + water
- This yields more energy in the from of many ATP
- Respiration - The chemical energy stored in glucose must be released by all cells through a series of enzyme-controlled reactions
