    - - after seeing the traditions of his culture being disobeyed and know he can't resist the lifestyle change, Okonkwo takes his future into his own hands and literally kills himself to escape the inevitable break in beliefs and loss of support by his village. a man who respects his traditions so much actually kill himself, something against the rules of his culture, but shows how far he would go before he was willing to adapt to the white men's life.
    - - tradition plays such a big role in everything Ibo people do and it literally the foundation of everything they do, and all the people follow, and they run a functioning society. people are accepting of the tradition and enjoy it.
