Problem: Too much background noise near working environment
Solution 1: Quiet Fan Technology to Reduce Tonal Noise
Process
Typical CPU device to process the data received and set the fan to the user's desired sound preferences
Output
Desired sound preferences are adrift using the internal system of a tonal reduction fan
Input
Buttons on a handheld remote device with an infrared sensor would be used to control the fan
How it works
User would set desired sound levels using the remote
Information would be processed using a Central Processing Unit
Desired amount of sound would be minimised
Considering that this is a device predominantly targeted to those who are working in stressful noisy work environments, not only does this device reduce tonal noise, but it also provides the options of instigating stress-relieving sound variations with a solace nature. This includes white noise, brown noise, pink noise and other flat spectrally dense sound accumulations proved to be relieving to the mind.
What it looks like
Solution 2: Sound-proof material implemented in infrastructure + application to control the degree of audio
Process
Paired application using Bluetooth connection - preferred data is set and received by the user
An assisting low-scale sensitive motion sensor would allow this process to pick up inconsistencies and channel them back to the user's application signalling it as a problem that needs to be dealt with before proceeding. This is a standard measure needed to take into consideration according to the infrastructure of the wall/room itself.
Output
Using the data collected from the application, the sensitive layers of material contract and bind together according to the preferences of the user
Input
Touch screen on tablet device which is installed into a central system integrated to the wall where the soundproof material is being used
Layers of soundproof material:
How it works
User sets sound preferences using tablet like device attached to the wall of the soundproof material
Using the motion sensors enabled within the layers of material, the tight binds of material contract allowing it to fit the needs of the user
The tablet-like device ideally looks similar to a home installed air-conditioning remote control unit, except in this solution its controlling the permitted ambient soundwaves rather than temperature levels.
Solution 3: Speaker system used to emit opposing soundwaves to reduce tonal noise from surrounding areas
Process
The data from the input system would be processed and recorded in the application which would set the speaker system to initiate the correct soundwaves.
Bluetooth antenna used to connect to the application in order for data use and recording
Output
The mechanical energy comprised by the speaker system would compress air and convert the motion into soundwaves which contradict the current ambient soundwaves.
Input
Microphone used to measure ambient sound
Diagnostics sensors used to measure system values (power, speaker health etc) for diagnostics
Touch screen on the mobile device used for the paired application would allow the user to set the preferred sound quality of their environment
Looks similar to a typical speaker system
What does it do?
Integrates an ambient sound system into a speaker which would project opposing soundwaves to reduce tonal noise from surrounding areas. This would be controlled by a mobile application which would track the data of the room’s soundwaves in order to emit the appropriate contradicting soundwaves.
