Positive reinforcement
Giving the performer something pleasant after a behaviour increases the probability that the behaviour will continue
Negative reinforcement
Taking away something unpleasant as a result of the behaviour that is acceptable to increase the behaviour

The use of Reinforcement to ensure that correct responses are repeated. Known as the Behaviourist theory, connecting specific stimulus’ to a required response (Skinner)

Insight learning is a type of learning or problem solving that happens all-of-a-sudden through understanding the relationships of various parts of a problem rather than through trial and error

Using experience and understanding from performing a task to help solve problems relating to the future. The Gestalt approach of learning, when we concentrate on the whole rather than the parts.
