Mastery
Each hero starts at mastery level 1 and 0 MP (Mastery Points). Heroes that are on free rotation can only reach Level 3. This will help incentivize players to purchase heroes to unlock them fully. As the hero levels up the player will unlock various rewards and skills such as:

The heroes will earn MP based on their performance during the match, whether the team wins or loses, and a bonus for premade teams. This helps encourage team play and social behavior.

Hero Mastery Levels
Hero’s start at level 1 and up to level 12 earn rewards. At level 12 they can continue to level that hero for prestige and to show off how far they have gone with that hero (no cap). Each hero level beyond 12 will only net a small reward of soft currency and increase the mastery level.
