Cold crushing strength
Max. load per unit area applied under spedified conditions at room temp, that a product will withstand before failure

Insensitive to crystal structure or composition, very sensitive to porosity as less solid material per unit volume

Thermal conductivity

Phonon Scattering

Temperature has strong effect as at higher temperatures the phonons are scattered by lattice vibrations

Multiphase Ceramics
Two models:

Parallel arrangement where temperature gradient is the same in all phases but not necessarily heat flow

Connected porosity uses series model as some heat has to cross pore phase but this considers heat transfer by radiation
