Determine factors related to the individual situation, as listed in Risk Factors

Use and pad side rails with the bed in lowest position, or place bed up against wall and pad floor if rails not available or appropriate
Monitor respiratory rate, rhythm, depth, and effort of respirations.

Maintain in lying position, flat surface; turn head to side during seizure activity.
