Pathophysiology
The AN2 region of the short aim of chromosome 11 include the PAX6 gene. Whose gene production helps regulate a cascade of the eyes, as well as other non ocular structures. This PAX6 gene is around 95% similar to PAX gene found in zebrafish. Aniridia may be associated with other ocular defects. This iris appears absent on superficial clinical examination. Aniridia is a panocula disorder with manicular and optic nerve hypoplasia, cataract and corneal changes the abnormalities head ti decrease vision and nystagmus
