Difinition
It occurs when there is inadequate blood flow to the brain or bleeding into the brain that results in death of the brain cells
Nursing Care Plan
Diagnosis
Parylysis in the arm, leg and face
Difficulty in speaking
Goal
To monitor the effectiveness of the treatment the patient is taking
To detect intracranial pressure as early as possible
To strengthen body muscles
To promote blood flow to the brain
Nursing Intervention
Encourage patient to excercise
Administer osmotic diuretics as prescribed
Monitor vital signs
Observe for signs of intracranial pressure
Evaluation
Vital signs with be stable
Body muscles will be strong and flexible
Enough blood will flow to the brain
